November 29, 2013 NY Times and USA Today bestselling author E.G. Foley presents The Gryphon Chronicles, a new series of historical fantasy adventure novels that’s as much fun for grownups as it is for kids!

Big Trouble…

Reunited with his aristocratic magical relatives, and finally getting used to his own supernatural powers, orphaned ex-pickpocket Jake Everton, the young Lord Griffon, travels on his first-ever holiday to beautiful Norway. There, at an amazing (steampunk!) Invention Convention, his cousin Archie, the boy genius, plans to unveil his marvelous new flying machine to the scientific world.

But legends of the Viking Age die hard in Scandinavia. Danger strikes as famous Victorian scientists start mysteriously disappearing. When Archie vanishes, too, Jake races to the rescue. With the help of his trusty pet Gryphon, he tracks the kidnapper to his lair—only to come face-to-face with an angry Norse giant!

From the whimsical steampunk oddities of the Invention Convention to wondrous worlds of Norse mythology, join Jake and his friends on a giant-sized adventure full of hair-raising dangers and big laughs!

MY THOUGHTS:

THE GRYPHON CHRONICLES: JAKE AND THE GIANT by E. G. Foley is a delightful Fantasy/Fiction/Adventure for Young Readers ages, 10 and Up. Set again in the Victorian Era. #2 in “The Gryphon Chronicles” but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would recommend reading book 1, “The Lost Heir”. The adventure continues in “Jake and The Giant”. Jake Everton, now Lord Griffon, has finally be re-united with his parents, and is coming to grips with his magical powers. When Jake’s cousin Archie, goes missing, along with other scientists, Jake races to the rescue. He comes face-to-face with a Norse giant. Filled with Norse mythology, magical creatures, a flying machine, legends, and of course a bit of danger and lots of adventure. Harry Potter has nothing on Jake and his friends. A wonderful Historical fantasy for young and old readers alike. Another hit for this amazing author. Well done. What an engaging story from beginning to end with a feel of Steampunk, historical,Fantasy and Adventure all mixed into one grand adventure. BIG TROUBLE comes to Jake and his friends in “Jake and the Giant”. Another must read! Received for an honest review from the author.

MY THOUGHTS:

THE GRYPHON CHRONICES: THE LOST HEIR by E. G. Foley is an intriguing Fantasy/Fiction/Adventure set in Victorian  London. # 1 in “The Gryphon Chronicles”. What a beginning. A mixture of fantasy, almost like a steampunk and historical. Jake is a orphaned pickpocket on the streets of Victorian London, living by his wits. A freshly wrapped Regency Christmas romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Grace Burrowes.

What Lady Jenny wants for Christmas…

For Christmas, soft-spoken Lady Jenny Windham craves the freedom to pursue her artistic ambitions, though it will mean scandalizing her ducal parents and abandoning all hope of a family of her own. She confides her plans to successful artist Elijah Harrison when he’s commissioned to paint a portrait of her small nephews, because assisting Elijah will bring Jenny that much closer to her heart’s desire–won’t it?

…Will break both their hearts

Elijah Harrison finds in his unlikely assistant not only an inspiring muse and unappreciated talent, but also a lovely and passionate woman. If Elijah supports Jenny’s career, his own professional interests will suffer, but more significantly, he will lose Jenny forever. Both Jenny and Elijah must choose between true love and a lifelong dream.

MY THOUGHTS:

Lady Jenny’s Christmas Portrait by Grace Burrowes is an interesting Regency Christmas Historical Romance.  (The Duke’s Daughters, #5) (Windham, #8),but can be read as a stand alone. This is Elijah Harrison and Jenny Windham’s story.  A heartwarming romance filled with Christmas magic and passion. Ms. Burrowes is a masterful storyteller whose characters are complex, but passionate, strong but vulnerable. While, Ms. Burrowes has written several books about the Windham family, she never ceases to amaze me with how each and everyone of them are unique in their own way,and each has their own path to follow. If you enjoy historical romance, Regency Christmas, yuletide blessings than, you will surely enjoy “Lady Jenny’s Christmas Portrait”. A great anytime read! From USA TODAY bestselling author Kasey Michaels comes the second book in her captivating series about the Redgraves—four siblings celebrated for their legacy of scandal and seduction…

Lady Katherine Redgrave has one mission—to find her deceased father’s journals, which may hold the key to a traitorous conspiracy that puts Kate’s family in danger. Kate vows to let no obstacle stand in her way…but when she meets Simon Ravenbill, Marquis of Singleton, her attention is diverted as the sinfully handsome nobleman tempts her beyond reason.

Simon has a mission of his own: to uncover the truth about the secret society he believes murdered his brother. All he needs is to get to the Redgrave journals before Kate does. The solution is simple—he’ll romance the fiery beauty in hopes of distracting her from her quest, all while covertly searching for the diaries himself. Yet what begins as a charade soon becomes an all-consuming desire…one that could lead them down the most dangerous path of all.

MY THOUGHTS:

WHAT THE LADY NEEDS by Kasey Michaels is an Regency Historical Romance set in 1810 London, which follows Lady Katherine Redgrave and Simon Ravenbill. #2 in “The Redgraves” series, but can be read as a stand alone. See, “What An Earl Wants”.  Both Katherine and Simon are on separate missions. One to find a father’s journal, that may hold the key to a conspiracy. The other the secret society that murdered his brother. Together, they find passion, reveal secrets long ago hidden, danger, and love. Sizzling desire, and a dangerous mission only bring these two closer together. Well rounded characters that are engaging as well as realistic. An intriguing plot. What’s next, you ask, will the siblings ever find truth that has scandalized society for years? If you have read one of Ms. Michaels’ stories do pick up this series you will not be disappointed. Publication Date: November 26, 2012
In an enchanting novella from #1 New York Times bestselling author Victoria Alexander, eligible viscount Winfield Elliott searches for a bride and discovers that love may be lovelier the second–or even third–time around. . .Allow Me To Explain. . .

Some say I do not take my engagements seriously. Nonsense. What man with no interest in marriage would find himself proposing not once, but three times? And each time, I’ve felt certain that this, at last, is the absolutely, positively, perfect woman.

Miss Felicia Whitingdon, for instance, has youth, beauty, style, grace–and a handsome fortune. Lady Lucille Eustice is a widow of impeccable social standing, and a balm to my soul. Then there is Miss Caroline Hibbitt, sweet and charming in every way. Any one of these intoxicating treasures could make a man happy. Any one of them could be an ideal wife. But which–if any of them–will it be?

“For love, laughter, and lots of fun, read Victoria Alexander.” –Stephanie Laurens, New York Times bestselling author

“This Victorian yuletide romance provides erotic sizzle and delectably clever dialogue on every page.” –USA Today on His Mistress by Christmas

New York Times bestselling author Victoria Alexander was an award-winning television reporter until she discovered fiction was much more fun than real life. She turned to writing full time and has never looked back. Victoria grew up traveling the country as an Air Force brat and is now settled in a very old house in Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband, two allegedly grown children and two bearded collies. She firmly believes housework is a four-letter word, there are no calories in anything eaten standing up, procrastination is an art form, and it’s never too soon to panic.

MY THOUGHTS:

LORD STILLWELL’S EXCELLENT ENGAGEMENTS by Victoria Alexander is a interesting Regency Historical Romance. A prequel Novella to “The Importance of Being Wicked”. A quick fun read with witty, sarcastic character in Lord Stillwell,Viscount Winfield Elliott. Will he ever find happiness and his own true love? We shall see! Very entertaining. Written partly, in letters to his cousin. A very well told story. But I am anticipating  his happy ever after ending. Well done,Victoria! Three broken engagements to his credit,Win is determined to find the love of his life. Fast paced read full of laughter and romance. A must read for a bit of laughter. A very enjoyable read!
