MY THOUGHTS:

CHASING THE OTHER TISDALE by Jessica Jefferson is an exciting Regency Historical Romance. #3 in the “Regency Bloom” series, but can be read as a stand alone. Let me say, first, this is a new author to me, and I absolutely loved her writing.

Meet, the other Tisdale sister, Lillian and Will Colton, a definite Rake with a family secret. Will is forced to leave England, and Lillian, who thought he was beginning to have feelings for her. Lillian is left with a broken heart.

Two years later… Will returns to England, after his father has died. Will is hoping to re-ignite the feelings between himself and Lillian. Lillian has other ideas, she can’t bear to have Will engage her heart again and leave her. She may survive this time.

But Will, is determine to win Lillian’s heart again and find his father’s true identity, without dishonoring his mother’s name and life. Can love prevail?

“Chasing the Other Tisdale” is a fast paced tale of secrets, love and romance. This is an easily embraced tale with witty banter, and engaging characters. The romance between Will and Lillian is passionate and emotionally contacted. The storyline, may be an old one, but it is written in a unique matter, with an intriguing and interesting plot.

I would highly recommend this title to anyone to enjoys a great Historical romance, Regency romance with a twist. An enjoyable and satisfying read from beginning to the very last page.  A must read!

Book Description (from Amazon)

February 6, 2015
Responsible, practical Miss Hermione Rogers, has been crafting stories as the notorious Mr. Michael Michaelmas and selling them for a meager wage to support her siblings. The only real way to ensure her family’s ruinous debts are paid, however, is to marry. Tall, thin, and plain, she has no expectation of success. In London for her first Season she seizes the chance to write the tale of a brooding duke. In her research, she finds Sebastian Fitzhugh, the 5th Duke of Mallen, who unfortunately is perfectly affable, charming, and so nicely… configured… he takes her breath away. He lacks all the character traits she needs for her story, but alas, any duke will have to do.

Sebastian Fitzhugh, the 5th Duke of Mallen has been deceived so many times during the high-stakes game of courtship, he’s lost faith in society women. Yet, after a chance encounter with Hermione, he finds himself intrigued. Not a woman he’d normally consider beautiful, the young lady’s practical bent, her forthright nature and her tendency to turn up in the oddest places has his interests… roused. He’d like to trust her, he’d like to do a whole lot more with her too, but should he?

MY THOUGHTS:

ONCE A WALLFLOWER, AT LAST HIS LOVE by Christi Caldwell is a wonderful Regency Historical Romance set in 1808 England. #6 in the ” Scandalous Seasons”, but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would suggest reading the others in this amazing series.

Meet, Miss Hermione Rogers, aka, Mr. Michael Michaelmas and Sebastian Fitzhugh, the 5th Duke of Mallen. While, Hermione, is a notorious storyteller, she is also a wallflower, feisty, strong-willed and determined to protect and support her siblings, in the only way she know how other than marriage, by writing her stories. You, see, no marriage minded gentleman even looks at her, she is too opinionated, that is until Sebastian Fitzhugh enters her life. Sebastian, is serious, and know his responsibilities and holds them dear.

An enjoyable read with likeable characters and an interesting storyline. Ms. Caldwell has once again written a story that grips the reader, with her comfortable, passionate story, her engaging, and likeable characters.

While, this story, is filled with emotions, it also, has it humorous moments, when her younger brother and sister, first meet Sebastian, for instance. Ms. Caldwell, addresses the issues of having a mental handicapped sibling, Hermoine’s  elder sister, Elizabeth, due to a fever years prior and what happens to her, that may cause a scandal, with honesty, consistency and seriousness. The secondary characters help to carry the story.

An enjoyable read! Well written with emotion, drama, and love. Romance blended with family tragedy and love. Well done!

*The sensual content was confined within the marriage bed*. I enjoyed that as well.

MY THOUGHTS:

#4 in the “Marriage Mart Mayhem”, series, but can be read as a stand alone. See, “The Elusive Wife”, “The Duke’s Quandary”, and “The Lady’s Disgrace”. Meet, Tristan, Lord Tunstall and his wife, Lady Marion Tunstall.

Fast paced tale with witty banter, passion, romance and love. What happens when after two years of mourning, Lady Marion Tunstall, learns her beloved husband is not dead, as he was reported to be? She is ready to re-enter society. Tristan, was wounded and damaged from an explosion on a Royal Navy ship, left damaged, he thinks the best way to save is beloved wife, is by allowing her to believe he is dead. However, Lady Marion, will not allow that to happen, she loves him to much. She is determined to make him see together, they can do anything.

What follows is a struggle of wills, where, passion, and love has to win. Can love prevail? or will Lady Marion lose the only man she has or will ever love. Tristan, will always love Marion, but can he get past his damaged soul and allow love to prevail.
You must read “The Baron’s Betrayal” to learn rather love can prevails or if Lady Marion, will lose the one man she has ever loved. Oh, and a bit of twist happens, Lady Marion becomes pregnant, which is another complication in their lives. A much loved tale of love, struggle, complication, blindness, and the power of true love, compassion, and romance. Well written, with endearing and challenging characters. The storyline is a bit unique as the topic of blindness, a wounded soldier, and the consequences of war are addressed. I loved the heroine, her determination not to fail and her struggles to hold her family together. Well done, Ms. Hutton! A delicious romance!

MY THOUGHTS:

An enjoy and satisfying read!

#2 in” The Heart of a Duke”, but can be read as a stand alone. “More Than a Duke” has witty dialogue, seduction, and romance. It is fast paced with interesting, enduring and engaging characters. The storyline, while, not unique, is intriguing with it’s witty banter, it’s feeling of betrayal in the past by loved ones, and learning to trust again. I enjoyed the way the author brought the reader along for the ride of seduction but the true seduction was at the end of the story, between Harry and Anne. I enjoyed watching them both grow in their love, compassion and passion of each other. An enjoyable and Satisfying read from the first page to the last. I would highly recommend to any romance reader, especially Historical Romance readers. A sweet Historical Romance tale with a few twists and turns along the way.

The Notorious Flynns, Book 1

For years Serafina McPhee has been engaged to marry the heir to the Duke of Hartholm and for almost as long, she has been struggling to find a way out of that engagement. When he suddenly dies, she does not mourn but thrills at the idea that she will be free. Unfortunately, best laid plans go awry when the next in line for the title, her intended’s cousin, Raphael “Rafe” Flynn is forced to take over the engagement. But Serafina knows Rafe’s reputation as a libertine and wants nothing to do with him, either, even if he is devastatingly handsome.

She proposes an arrangement: she will agree to the marriage and provide Rafe with his heir and spare. Once she has done her duty, he will let her go. Rafe is intrigued both by her beauty and by her utter disgust with the idea of being his bride. Women normally fall at his feet, not cringe away from him. However, since their arranged marriage is not something he can escape, he agrees to her terms.

But when he finds out on their wedding night the truth about her torture at the hands of his predecessor, he finds himself driven not just to fulfill his bargain with his new bride, but to introduce her to desire. While they move closer together, surrendering to wicked pleasures, dangerous emotions may violate every agreement they’ve made.

MY THOUGHTS:

#1 in “The Notorious Flynns” series and what a beginning! I have been patiently waiting for this title and was not disappointed. Fast paced with romance, suspicion, mistrust, betrayal, a bit of suspense, and lots of passion. WOW! All any Historical Romance could want in a Romance book. The hero/heroine are both enjoyable, while, a bit predictable, they where both endearing as well as engaging. Engaging the reader in a story of desire, passion and the vulnerable of finding love in the least expected place.
Meet, Raphael “Rafe” Flynn, the new Duke of Hartholm, and Serafina McPhee’s, her intended’s cousin. Serafina thinks everything is fine now as her intended is dead, but atlas, things go awry, and Rafe finds himself engaged to Serafina and ready to show her how good desire and pleasure can be between a man and a woman.

Well written with Ms. Michaels’ usual aplomb and engaging characters. The storyline is intriguing as well as satisfying. The passion between Rafe and Serafina is passionate, and tasteful. Just when their love is beginning to bloom, trouble, comes a’calling. Someone is out to destroy the new Duke and his betrothed. A very enjoyable and satisfying read from beginning to end. I can hardly wait until the next “The Notorious Flynn” installment. Well done, Ms. Michaels! I love this author’s writing and “The Other Duke” was no exception. Ms. Michaels is an amazing storyteller. I would highly recommend “The Other Duke” to any romance reader, rather Historical reader or not. A deliciously wicked tale with a few twists and turns.

MY THOUGHTS:
HE’S NO PRINCE CHARMING by Elle Daniels is a delightful Regency Historical Romnace. Ever After, #1, what a start to a new beginning. A retelling of the “Beauty and the Beast” with a twist.
Meet, Marcus Bradley, the Marquis of Fleetwood, a wounded beast, and Danielle Strafford, the spirited beauty.
With witty banter, bits of humor, dark family secrets, adventure, hope, healing, nightmares from parental abuse, passion and romance makes this an extremely appealing new series. While, this story has bits of dark moments, it is an emotional but well thought out tale of hope, healing and finding true love at all costs. Oh, I did forget to mention a bit of matchmaking, which has gone awry, a kidnapping or two or three, an elaborate rescue that leads to more adventure? Well written with enticing, engaging and very likeable characters. The storyline is extremely intriguing, and deliciously wicked. What an enjoyable and most satisfying read! If you are looking for a tale, with a blend of tragedy, fairytale, drama, and romantic comedy, than HE’S NO PRINCE CHARMING, is the tale for you to pick for to read. You will not regret your choice. Well done!!

Erotic Romance ~ Regency Historical ~ Light BDSM ~ Older Woman, Younger Man ~ Former Courtesan Kept Woman ~ Novel Length ~ Part of a series but may be read as standalone.

Heartbroken and disillusioned, Rebecca Howland is done with all men. Especially noblemen. Past a certain age, she knows her previous life of carnal indulgence and grand adventure is over. Or so she thinks. Back at home, whilst working in her family’s shop, a moment of compassion entangles her in an old battle between two powerful, bitter enemies. A commoner, Rebecca finds herself falsely accused of a heinous act by a vicious member of the aristocracy. In grave peril, she turns to the one man she thinks can help her.

Stephen Drake, now inexplicably Baron Drake, has always desired Rebecca. When she turns to him, he vows to protect her at all costs, especially from the dangerous life he lives. The stakes are high and time is running out for her … and for him as well. Stephen finds himself driven to ruthless actions that threaten to kill the fragile bond between them.

Years ago, Rebecca forbade herself to love Stephen Drake. Now he’s back, no longer the young man she remembers but a dark and dangerous stranger. When he demands a fortnight of her complete submission in return for his protection, his sexual dominance ignites a carnal passion that makes her feel alive like never before. But … dare she trust a man with too many secrets?

My Thoughts:
WOW! Simply delicious and wicked. #3 in the “Regency Risks” series, but can be read as a stand alone. Fast paced, thrill ride of delicious wickedness. Passion, danger, romance, lots sensuality and so much more makes this a must read, Erotic Historical Romance. ” Perilous Risk” is about so much more than sensuality and submission, it is also about betrayal, second chances, an older courtesan, a younger baron, it’s also about trust, romance and love. A compelling and complex Erotic with a bit of BDSM, lots of passion, submission and love. The love scenes are tastefully written, but very sensual and passionate. The characters are engaging, long suffering, and interesting. The storyline is well written, with intrigue, suspense and mystery. Kept me guessing who was doing what to whom and why. Oh, yes you may find a spy, an assassin and a murderess. What a thrill ride! I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys lots of spice with their romance. A perfect late night read! Ms. Blackthorne is a consumerist storyteller. Loved it! A wickedly delicious Regency romp! Well done.
