A Regency Rendezvous Romance

Penniless and jilted, Eliza Plowman accepts a position as governess to Lord Alistair Kennedy’s illegitimate children. When Eliza sets foot in the Scottish lord’s carriage, she faces the most dangerous foe a woman can face: a charming rogue. The danger is not only to her heart, however, but to her life, as well.

In an effort to deny her son’s illegitimate children, Alistair’s stepmother insists on a dour governess who will break their rebellious spirits. Alistair, however, decides that the pretty lass with a colorful French vocabulary who shows up in his stepmother’s drawing room is exactly what the children need. If the notion offends his stepmother, all the better. If the lass is what he needs… well, a man can’t ask for more.

His stepmother doesn’t intend for Alistair to open his heart to her grandchildren, or the woman who cares for them. Her plans include forcing them onto the streets.

My thoughts:

The Blue Drawing Room (Regency Rendezvous Book 2) by Carmen Caine is a fantastic Regency read. While, book 2 in the REGENCY RENDEZVOUS series, it can be read as a stand alone. This is part of a multi – author series. Different authors, different stories.

This is the journey of Eliza Plowman, penniless and jilted with a colorful French vocabulary, who applies for a governess job with the charming Scottish rogue, Lord Alistair Kennedy, for his illegitimate children. Alistair decides Eliza is just what is children needs, so he hires her on the spot. She is way to pretty and feisty for his step – mother to accept, thus the trouble begins…..

The cast of characters are charming, enjoyable and will steal your heart, well of most them, anyway. The plot is fast paced, captivating and well written. At times it’s humorous, the children’s antics was laugh out loud, at others, dangerous but very intriguing. I was glued to the pages from the first page to the last. The details were vivid, descriptive and dare I say, lively.
Mystery, suspense, a bit of intrigue, danger, romance and the possibility of love and a HEA, makes this story a thrill to read and brought it full circle.

Ms. Caine is a talented author, who draws her readers into her stories and holds them captive. I must say, I adore her writing style, the way she brings her characters to life on the pages of a great book, is impressive as well as interesting. To find out what the excitement is all about pick up your copy of THE BLUE DRAWING ROOM for your reading pleasure, you will not be disappointed. A definite must read! Ms. Caine will have you glued to the pages of THE BLUE DRAWING ROOM. What a fantastic read! Well done, Ms Caine!

Description

Secrets. Lies. And a second chance at love…

Torn from the only man she’d ever loved by a tragic secret, Mara Miller has traveled a long and difficult road. From poverty and the workhouses, she’s finally made a life for herself as the owner of a small haberdashery in London. With her companion, Big B, an African slave she’d helped escape from a Brazilian slaver, she’s made a fresh start. But when the past walks into her shop—in the form of the ever-handsome Roarke Garrott, Viscount Eversleigh—Mara feels her whole world crash to her feet. Thrust back into a web of lies, deceit, and manipulation, Mara is forced to face the one man she’d sworn to forget.

For the past seven years, Roarke had sequestered himself in India to mourn Mara’s death. Vowing to move on and put the past behind him, he returns to London, only to find himself gazing into those beautiful green eyes he believed he’d never see again. Now he’s found her—alive and trying to deny who she was. A million feelings wash over him. Joy. Fury. Heartbreak. He would have the truth from her—of where she’d gone, and why—but when trouble from the past finds Mara and Big B, the truth becomes secondary to saving Mara’s life. My thoughts:

Where the Viscount Met His Match (Ways of Love Book 2) by Tabetha Waite is a Regency Romance by this amazing and masterful author. While, book 2, it can be read as a stand alone.
I absolutely love Mara Miller, which we met in book 1, and Roarke Garrott, Viscount Eversleigh, the love of Mara’s life, but she lost him several years prior due to a tragic event that forced Mara to fake her own death. A story filled with a web of lies, deceit, manipulation, sacrifice and so much more. Now, he’s walked back into her life. I found these characters to be tortured souls, torn apart by a huge secret then thrust back together again, by unseen circumstances, to be heart a wrenching, engaging and very enjoyable read. The secondary characters are enjoyable and help move the story along. The plot is intriguing, very interesting and captivating. The storyline flows seamlessly and is well executed, in my humble opinion.

A story of love, grief, secrets, a tragic kidnapping, deceit, mental illness and second chances at finding a HEA. The twists and turns were magnificent and well done to deliver a most fantastic Regency Romance. A bit of mystery, suspense and the romance, was absolutely enticing and delightful to read.
Ms. Waite, captured my attention and held me glued to the pages of this gripping and brilliantly written story.

This is Ms. Waite’s second novel but she writes like a master, fully engaging her readers with characterizations, her descriptions, her detail to research, and the Era she’s writing. Just stunning and very well written! Fast paced with page turning mystery and suspense. The romance to me was wonderful, seeming realistic and believable.

A powerful, yet sweet romance with twists and turns. I look forward to reading more, in this fascinating series!
WHERE THE VISCOUNT MET HIS MATCH ends with the reader learning some of Roarke’s sister’s story, which just made me want more. A must read Regency Romance by an upcoming and rising author, Tabetha Waite! A definite keeper. I can see me reading this story and book 1, over again. A true treasure! Well done, Tabetha Waite! !

(Courtesy of Goodreads)

A dour duke and a wistful wallflower—an impossible match until fate intervenes one enchanted night.

A dour duke.
Jules, the Sixth Duke of Dandridge disdains Society and all its trappings, preferring the country’s solitude and peace. A wistful wallflower.
Forever in her stunning sister’s shadow, Jemmah Dament has adored Jules from afar for years—since as children they were the best of friends. She daren’t dream she can win a duke’s heart any more than she hopes to escape the life of servitude imposed on her by an uncaring mother. Jemmah knows full well, Jules is too far above her station. Besides, his family has already selected his perfect duchess: a poised, polished, exquisite blueblood.

But one enchanted night.
A chance encounter reunites Jules and Jemmah, resulting in a passionate interlude neither can forget. Jules realizes he wants more—much more—than Jemmah’s sweet kisses or her warming his bed. He must somehow convince her to gamble on a dour duke. But can Jemmah trust a rogue promised to another? One who’s sworn never to love again?

Caution: This Historical Regency Romance contains a duke who literally thumbs his nose at society, a sweet and intelligent wallflower with a secret dream, a villainess worthy of a fairy tale, and two delightful match-making dowagers.

Buy this book for an emotional, entertaining, and romantic fairy-tale meets Regency world adventure you won’t want to put down.

My thoughts:

A Diamond for a Duke by Collette Cameron is a delightful Regency Romance. A novella based loosely on Jean Perreault’s classic fairytale, “Toads and Diamonds”. This is a sweet romance with plenty of humor to satifisy your funny bone. The cast of characters are enjoyable and charming. You can’t help but fall in love Jules and Jemmah. The storyline flows seemingly and was well executed. The plot, while, serious, (mental abuse), there are laugh out loud moments.
Once again, Collette Cameron has written another hit, that will keep you glued to the pages as you follow Jemmah and Jules on their journey of a lifetime, as they find their way to a HEA.
Another keeper and and must read!

MY THOUGHTS:

Echo in the Wind by Regan Walker is an outstanding Georgian Historical Romance. “Donet Trilogy”, Book 2, but can be read as a stand alone. Set in England and France in 1784. The story begins in West Sussex, England.

This is the heartwarming story of Jean Donet, comte de Saintonge and Lady Joanna West.
Donet, was disowned from his family in France by his father, because his father did not like the woman his son wished to marry, so, Jean, made his own way and fortune by smuggling and others things to feed his young family. Donet gave up all for the love of a woman. Then his beloved wife dies, leaving him with a young daughter. Donet is bold, handsome, dark and a privateer, he’s the Captain of the la Reine Noire.
Joanna, is the oldest sister of Lord Torrington. She’s a smuggler with her younger brother, Freddy. They are smugglers to help the poor villagers of Chichester. Joanna is looking for adventure.

Love of a lifetime, second chances in love and life, adventure, danger, a bit of mystery, suspense, romance and a few surprises makes “Echo in the Wind” a page turner.

The mysterious and handsome Jean Donet and the elegant but advanteous Joanne make an excellent match. I absolutely loved their story!!

Well written with Ms. Walker’s usual aplomb, her historical details, her characterizations, and her vivid details, draw the reader into her stories and held them in awe. Her details of the countryside, makes the reader feel as if they are there, as if you can breath in the fragrant scents and feel the wind on your face. Simply breathtaking! ! I felt as if I was there, along with the characters. It was easy to feel Donet’s heartache and his reluctance to love again. My heart broke for both him and Joanna.

A fast paced drama, with passion and romance. The plot was magnificent, engaging and intriguing, as Ms. Walker’s stories usually are. The characters are strong-willed, bold, well rounded, very believable and realistic.

Once again, Regan Walker brings readers a story of adventure, and romance, that will keep readers fully engaged. I was glued to the pages from the first sentence forward. Magnificent! ! Another masterfully and brilliantly executed story!! Bravo!! Ms. Walker definitely knows how to write Historical Romance. I love her stories and “Echo in the Wind”, was no different. A absolutely wicked but delicious story. Another must read by Regan Walker. Beautiful and heartwarming story!!!

Product Description

Vikki Vaught’s newest series, Lake District Brides, begins with Miss Lizabella’s Dilemma, a historical novel of a woman’s despair in the aftermath of war. This Regency romance brings you endearing characters to love, and a moving love story of deep sensuality.

Lizabella Millington’s intended goes missing after the Battle of Waterloo. She’s afraid he may have perished on that fateful day. Her fear turns to panic when she realizes she carries his child. Her uncle discovers her shame and tosses her out, leaving her with no alternative but to seek shelter from her beloved’s eldest brother.

Marcus, Viscount Loring, grieves for his brother, who loses his life to injuries received in battle. The last thing he expects is a grieving young woman arriving on his doorstep and claiming his brother’s the father of her unborn child.

Should he believe her tragic tale and offer her succor or turn her away?

MY THOUGHTS:

Miss Millington’s Dilemma by Vikki Vaught is an amazing Regency Romance.
Ms. Vaught manages to pull the reader into this incredibly beautiful and heartwarming story.

The characters were realistic and believable. The heroine was a bit naive at first, but she matures quickly, having a child tends to do that to a person. The heroine had a reason to be scared, feel alone and unwanted, in her desperate time of need, her family, per say, kicked her out with nothing but the clothes on her back. So off she goes to find her beloved at his brother’s house, to ask for help. I could see and feel a true gentleman doing as our hero did and accept his deceased brother’s child and help the mother, even to marrying her to make the child legitimate. I loved how they fall in love with each other and became a family. Melted my poor heart. Both our heroine and hero were motivated to do the right thing for all involved. I loved how the hero took responsibility of his brother’s child and claimed it as his own.

There is much to appeal to Regency fans, such as, conflict, a bit of danger, drama, love and finding a HEA for all concerned. The sensual tension was palpable, and exceuted well by Ms. Vaught, in my humble opinion.

Such an enjoyable and very satisfying read!
A great read that will hold the reader’s attention from the first page to the last. An absolute delight to read! Strongly recommended! !

MY THOUGHTS:

Romancing the Rogue by Erica Ridley is an absolute delight to read. #2 in the her exciting “Gothic Historical Romance” series, which, it can be read as stand alone.
**It originally featured in the Anthololoy “Vexed”, which is were I first encountered this fantastic read.** I also enjoyed it so much, when the opportunity arose, I purchased it as an individual read. Yes, it is that good!

A quick read that is easy to read and the characters easily capture your heart. 188 pages, packed full of entertainment, an interesting and intriguing plot, as well as characters who are charming and need a second chance in life and love.

“Romancing the Rogue” is the story of
Daniel Goodenham, Lord North-Barrows and Miss Rebecca Bond. Daniel, unfortunately, shunned Rebecca years ago, he was the only man she ever loved and Rebecca was the only woman who ever treated Daniel as a man not a title.
When the new earl inherits, Rebecca finds herself the “poor relation”, about to be kicked out of her home. Enter, fate and Daniel…. Can Daniel, now win her forgiveness and win her heart?
Rebecca is a strong, self reliant, and self sufficient lady with brains and intelligence. A very strong, likable and realistic character. Daniel, on the other hand, needed time to mature into the man he has become in order to realize what he really wants out of life.
Together these two great characters find forgiveness, healing, the discovery that old wounds can heal to find HEA.

Easy to read, the characterizations and the vivid descriptions added the emotionally charged moments to make “Romancing the Rogue” a really wicked, but delicious romp in Regency England. I was so captured by the characters, the scenery and of course, the plot, I couldn’t put “Romancing the Rogue” down, until the very last page. This is one of those read you can re-read over and over again.

Once again, Ms. Ridley has brought readers a perfect escape through the world of Regency England. I have never been disappointed in one of Erica Ridley’s masterfully written stories, in fact, I always look forward to her next grand adventure. She is one of my favorite Regency Romance authors.

Fans of Regency Romance, strong heroines, determined heroes, redemption, forgiveness, captivating characters, quick reads, and the thrill of romance are truly in for a treat.
A definite must read Regency Romance! I strongly recommend picking up a copy of “Romancing the Rogue”, for yourself, I don’t feel your be disappointed.

MY THOUGHTS

The Scoundrel’s Honor by Christi Caldwell is another example of writing from the heart. Set in 1822 London. While, Book 2 in her mesmerizing series, “Sinful Brides”, it can easily be read as a stand alone. See, “The Rogue’s Wager”. If you have read Ms. Caldwell’s intriguing stories before, you will probably remember Lady Penelope Tidemore and Ryker Black, as appearing characters.

Lady Penelope Tidemore is in no way a stranger to scandal. Her older siblings caused such a scandal, her family’s good name was mudged. She longs for adventure, romance and passion for herself, as well. The enigmatic but darkly Viscount Ryker Black, is a very dangerous man, he owns a gambling hell and does not enjoy, in fact, he despises the nick picking society, he was raised from the streets of London, afterall. He lives in a world filled with danger and debauchery. Therefore, does not desire a society miss to marry, until he meets the enchanting Lady Penelope who makes him burn with desire. When, Penelope is caught in a compromising postion, due to no fault of her own, will Ryker take responsibility and marry Penelope? Even through she is his sister’s new friend, will he leave Penelope to face the gossip, whispers and innuendoes alone? Can Ryker and Penelope find their HEA as danger lurks?

Fast paced, emotionally charged, intriguing, suspenseful, with mystery, and adventure. Christi Caldwell has a way with her stories that draws readers in and holds them spellbound throughout. I love her details to a story, her charactizations in my opinion are right on, the detail to the era is enlightened and the reader can tell she researches her topics to give the reader a more realistic view of the era, characters, their challenges and the storyline. The depth of her stories are heart stirring, powerful, as well as, captivating and seductively intriguing. Please, don’t get me wrong she in no way writes explicit scenes nor scenes that may embarrass the reader in anyway. Or to me, at least. Readers will find a read where ladies were treated as property and gentlemen their owners. But will Ryker be able to protect his cherished, and enchanting Penelope from the dangers his choice of living may cause? And society gossip?

Fans of Regency Romance, Historical Romance with complications, challenges, a bit of violence, ton scandal, intrigue and passionate characters, “The Scoundrel’s Honor” is a perfect read for you to start reading.

Ms. Caldwell is one of my favorite Regency Romance authors. She is such a dedicated author to her readers, her fans, and family, she simply is a powerful and compelling author of Regency Romance. “The Scoundrel’s Honor” is a not to miss Regency, it will capture your heart and hold you in awe! Well done again, Cthristi Caldwell!

His focus remains on saving his family from the certain ruin and disgrace Adeline’s actions invited—until Alistair catches sight of another female archer, her arrow connecting with far more than the center of her target.

MY THOUGHTS

Theodora (Lady Archer’s Creed Book 1) by Christina McKnight is a humorous romp through the Regency era of England.
Four friends formed a childhood bond through their school years that continues through their first season in London. Their mantra is friendship, loyalty and honor above all, but will their mantra carry them through the challenges of life into adulthood? Or will the challenges of adulthood leave their mantra behind as they face unforeseen obstacles?
Their love of archery brings these four young girls together, Theodora aka Theo, Georgina aka Georgie, Adeline and Josephine aka Josie, to form “The Lady Archer’s Creed”. Through their love of the sport of Archery, they solidify their unbreakable bond, and each Lady brings a unique quality that adds to their unbreakable friendship.
First up in what promises to be an amazing four book series is….
Lady Theodora Montgomery….

This is the story of Theodora and Mr. Alistair Price, who is heir to the elderly Viscount Melton. He brings his eight siblings to London, one of which is his sister, the rebellious Adeline. Who is alsi one of the Lady Archer’s Creed.
While the friendship of these four young ladies are more important than ever, will they be able to continue their mantra of friendship, loyalty are honor throughout their adulthood? Will love and desperation destroy all they hold dear? Will they be able to find their true love or give their lives to another, who hasn’t gained their heart? This is only a few obstacles they will face.

“Theodora” is a delicious romp through archery contests, the facts of life, growing up, and facing events of the real world, including, possible scandal, finding love and a HEA.

Readers will find an intriguing story of friendships, romance and passion with some twists and turns. Ms. McKnight brings this story to life with her funny antics, her wonderful charactizations, her development of the background of these young ladies and her trueness to Regency London. A wonderful story, indeed! While “Theodora” has passionate kisses, there are no actual love scenes, making this a sweet Regency Romance.
Readers of Regency Romance, sweet romances, forthright young ladies, Lady Archery contests, and deliciously amazing stories, will enjoy Book 1, “Theodora” in this four book series. I certainly did! I think laughter is good for the soul, and must thank Christina McKnight for writing such a wonderful story! I especially needed this at this time in my life. Thank you Christina McKnight! ! A very enjoyable and satisfying read! I look forward to Book 2, “Georgina”, can’t wait to see what she gets into, and her adventures. Well done, indeed!!

MY THOUGHTS

Regency Romance: Loving The Reluctant Viscount (The Fairbanks Series – Love & Hearts) (CLEAN Historical Regency Romance) by Jessie Bennett
is Book 3 in “The Fairbanks Series -Love & Hearts”, but it can be read as a stand alone.
This is the story of Lady Janelle Dowling and Viscount Allan Gray. Lady Janelle is considered on the shelf, she is the only unmarried sister of Elizabeth, Duchess of Worthington. Viscount Allan is visiting from Australia with his sister to further is business interest.
However, there is a nefarious plot to destroy a young couple’s love. Will this happen or can the plot be stopped before it’s too late? Will a young couple’s love be lost forever? Can the mystery of who is behind the theft be found before it’s too late?
A bit slow in the beginning but picks up nicely. With a mixture of mystery, intrigue, and romance, Ms. Bennett will once again delight her readers, with her intriguing plot and her engaging characters. Readers will be captivated and held in suspense, as they try to figure how why and who is responsible for the loss of the peace and tranquility at Fairbanks. I must say, I was a bit shocked and surprised.
Another great Clean Regency Romance by Jessie Bennett! Strongly recommended for fans of Historical Romance, Regency Romance, Clean Historical Regency, stories with extended families, suspense, mystery and romantic intrigue. A must read!
