A Regency Rendezvous Romance

In the game of hearts, love knows no social boundaries.

Eight years after she was sent to live with her aunt and uncle in Kent, Henrietta Katherine Graham, the daughter of the stablemaster for the Marquess of Ravenwood, returns to Garring Manor, older, wiser, and more beautiful than ever. Harboring an attachment for the second son, she looks forward to a sweet reunion and is thrilled when her beau resumes their relationship, without hesitation, and proposes marriage, but her father opposes the match, due to what he refers to as her low birth. Will Henrietta defy her father and societal dictates to follow her heart?

Lord Ernest Cornelius Frederick Howe values society’s good opinion, but he is shunned after a failed attempt to seize the marquessate in his brother’s absence. When he retires to the family estate, he is shocked to find his childhood sweetheart in residence, and nothing can stop him from renewing their acquaintance. Determined to win his ladylove, he devises a scheme to redefine Henrietta as something she is not, to protect his future wife and satisfy the whims of the ton, but he risks losing his bride, in the process. Will Ernest flout society to claim the woman he loves?

My thoughts:

The Stablemaster’s Daughter (Regency Rendezvous Book 10) by Barbara Devin is a delightful love story that transcends social classes, a stablemaster’s daughter and the second son of the
Marquess of Ravenwood. It can be read as a stand alone.
This is the journey of Henrietta Katherine Graham and Lord Ernest Cornelius Frederick Howe. And what a journey to fulfill their childhood love as just mere children, an eight separation and a happy reunion. While you can’t call this story a second chance story, it really is, their love went from a childhood love to an adult love. Fantastic!

A quick read to me, with endearing and engaging cast of characters. I did not feel I missed anything nor did it feel rushed. I enjoyed the plot, which seemed effortlessly written, was very interesting and steady paced. Henrietta and Ernest’s story will definitely capture your heart. With the help of family and friends they are determined to prove that a stablemaster’s daughter and a Lord can make a powerful and compelling couple.

Ms. Devlin writes a story of romance, love, devotion, secrets, abuse by a parent, passion, healing, and is infused with acceptance from the ton and finding a HEA that will certainly have you holding your breath, as Henrietta and Ernest find their place in society. I absolutely loved “The Stablemaster’s Daughter” story. A page turner, that came full circle!

“The Regency Rendezvous” series is proving to be a fantastic series. Well done, Ms. Devlin!

* * * A hot historical romance from USA Today Bestselling Romance Author Jess Michaels * * *
The youngest son of the Woodley clan, Gabriel has been obsessed with bringing his missing twin sister home since she disappeared over two years ago. His drive has forced him to block out all else, including any feelings he may have for the beautiful Juliet Gray. But when she is brought to London by Gabriel’s mother, avoiding the desire she inspires becomes impossible.

Juliet never wanted to come to London in the first place, especially since she knows she won’t be able to avoid Gabriel, who has been both confusing and drawing her from the moment they met. But to give her father a chance at happiness, she’ll stay in town. When Gabriel asks for her help in finding his sister, explosive secrets will be spilled and long suppressed longings will overflow. But will their search bring them love or expose them to a danger that could destroy all they’ve built?
Length: Full-length novel
Sensuality level: Hot and steamy

This book can be read as a stand-alone novel, but is part of a series (The Wicked Woodleys).

My Thoughts

While, a stand alone, the reader really should read them all to get the whole story, but not necessary.l, as each story can be read as a stand alone.
“The Wicked Woodleys” is an exciting, unconventional family, who doesn’t play or love by Society’s rules, but are ruled by their hearts.
Ms. Michaels has yet to disappoint me, with her fast paced, adventure filled, passionate stories. They are steamy, passionate stories with villains and a HEA.
In “Tempted”, it actually has two romances in one, as both parent and child find their HEA, and their second chance at love.
Well written with engaging, intriguing and interesting characters. In this series, the author crosses the boundaries of Regency England, and bends the rules of the social classes for love.
An intriguing story, with an intriguing storyline. I can’t wait to learn more of the Woodley’s missing sister, Claire, Gabriel’s twin sister.
Whether you are a fan of Historical Romance, Erotic Romance or Romance in general, you will find so much more in one of Ms. Michaels stories, than steamy passion, you will find a mesmerizing, powerful, and compelling story, with engaging characters and powerful romance. A must read! A wickedly delicious tale!

A rogue
Marcus, the Viscount Wessex has carefully crafted the image of rogue and charmer for polite Society. Under that façade, however, dwells a man whose dreams were shattered almost eight years earlier by a young lady who captured his heart, pledged her love, and then left him, with nothing more than a curt note.

A widow
Eight years earlier, faced with no other choice, Mrs. Eleanor Collins, fled London and the only man she ever loved, Marcus, Viscount Wessex. She has now returned to serve as a companion for her elderly aunt with a daughter in tow. Even though they’re next door neighbors, there is little reason for her to move in the same circles as Marcus, just in case, she vows to avoid him, for he reminds her of all she lost when she left.

As their paths continue to cross, Marcus finds his desire for Eleanor just as strong, but he learned long ago she’s not to be trusted. He will offer her a place in his bed, but not anything more. Only, Eleanor has no interest in this new, roguish man. The more time they spend together, the protective wall they’ve constructed to keep the other out, begin to break. With all the betrayals and secrets between them, Marcus has to open his heart again. And Eleanor must decide if it’s ever safe to trust a rogue.

My Thoughts

#8 in the exciting “The Heart of a Duke”series, but can be read as a stand alone. What an emotional tale, that is well written with engaging characters, emotional upheaval, a eight year old little girl, who will capture your very essence and second chances at a love so precious it bears all and remains forever.
Once again, Ms. Caldwell will have fans breathless, excited, emotional, and turning pages well into the night. I read it in one setting!
These characters are special in more ways than romance, there’s love, sacrifice, second chances, determination, an evil man, the determination of a mother’s protection of her child and the power of true love. Don’t mess with us Mama Tigers,we fight back!
An absolute delight! Fast paced, well written, powerful, compelling and emotional. Another awesome read from an amazing storyteller!
A must read for fans of great romance, passion, and justice! Strongly recommended!!

“I want to know you, to understand anything at all about you, because you are the most maddening lady I have ever encountered.”
He’s the perfect gentleman…
After years hidden away from the mockery of the Ton, proud Andrew Clifton, Lord Amberstall, is finally ready to face Society again. But when his horse is injured on the road to London, Andrew finds himself literally thrown at the feet of the beautiful, infuriating, and undeniably eccentric Katie Moore.
…she’s anything but a lady.
Katie always preferred the stables to society, so when she was badly injured in a riding accident, she was more than happy to retreat to the countryside and give up the marriage mart for good. She never expected an infuriatingly proper lord to come tumbling into her life–and she certainly never expected to find herself wondering what it would be like to rejoin the world at his side.
They couldn’t be more different, and soon Andrew and Katie find themselves at odds about everything but the growing passion between them…and a keen awareness of a threat that may end their unconventional romance before it has even begun.

HOW TO LOSE A LORD IN 10 DAYS OR LESS by Elizabeth Michaels is a witty Regency Historical Romance. #3 in the “Tricks of the Ton” series, buy can be read as a stand alone. See,”Desperately Seeking Suzanna” and “Must Love Dukes”.

This is Andrew Clifton, Lord Amberstall, who has been hidden away for a year in Scotland, due to being made a mockery in front of the ton.  And the eccentric, lonely Lady Katherine Moore’s (Katie) story.

Witty, and fun but intriguing and suspenseful! Ms. Michaels has written a tale that is captivating, entertaining, passionate and compelling all at once. How can that be, you ask, well first of all Katie is a lonely, eccentric and witty,  who loves horses, has had an accident that left her with a limp or did it? And Andrew (Andy) left England due to being made a mockery by none other than, his friends, over a horse race, who is lonely, handsome as the devil and is needed at home. Oh, did I mention, someone is threatening his family’s estate, and his valuable horses? And trying to get rid of him along the way.

Fast paced and filled with secrets, danger, witty banter between the hero and heroine, passionate kisses, and a unconventional romance. Oh yes, sparks fly. A lively romp through Regency England’s countryside with a bit of danger, sensual tension that leads to so much more than a quick romp in the hayloft. Another masterpiece for Ms. Michaels. “The Tricks of the Ton” is a lively series to say the least. A great entertaining read with a bit of danger and lots of romance. How to Marry A Rogue

Publisher: Wild Rose Press

Genre: Historical Romance

Book Description

A trip abroad with her aunt is just what Georgiana Lockewood needs to forget her failed engagement. But her guardian brother insists Jack, his childhood friend, accompany them for protection. She enjoys renewing their friendship, but new emotions stir to make Georgiana question her resolve to remain single and independent.

His parent’s destructive marriage and a bitter grandfather have hardened Jack Waverly’s heart. He vows to remain a bachelor and never give up fighting or gambling. But that was before his trip to France. Mischievous Georgiana has grown up and is turning heads of various suitors. Jack has promised to protect her from all the men vying for her attention, but could he be the biggest threat?

My Thoughts

Georgiana Lockewood doesn’t want to marry any of the men her brother keeps parading around for her.  So when her aunt decides to go to the continent to visit her sister, Georgiana presses her brother to allow her to go, with the promise that when she returns, she will seriously consider the suitors that have been chosen for her.  But her over-protective brother doesn’t trust a half-senile older aunt to watch out for Georgiana so he assigns his oldest and dearest friend, Jack to accompany her, since Jack needs to make the trip to check on the family business anyway.  But from the moment Jack and Georgiana look at each other, they both realize that gone are the days of pulling pigtails and finding childhood trouble.  Both of them have grown up.  And there is an immediate attraction.  Despite both of their resolves to remain single and independent, one chance encounter and words spoken out of haste changes all that.  So Georgiana and Jack decide to make lemonade out of lemons and agree to a marriage of convenience.  But with the passion and intensity they share in the bedroom, both of them begin to realize that perhaps they want more out of the marriage than just convenience.  But neither of them are willing to admit that to the other.  Are they destine to keep each other at arm’s length and miss out on the love match that is hiding underneath?

This book is simply a delight to read.  It’s comical, serious, and sensual all rolled into one.  There is just so much depth in the plot, the characters, and the situations they find themselves in, that it will keep you entertained from start to finish.  I really enjoyed the way that both characters learn to change and adapt in order to make their marriage work, and in the end, find the happiness they both have secretly longed for, despite harsh and tragic childhoods.  I loved how sweet and loving Georgiana was, especially to Jack’s grandfather.  I thought her interactions with him were very special and enjoyed that added relationship bond.  Overall, this is a book that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves historical fiction set in the Regency Era!

With Love and Other Scandals, bestselling and RITA Award–winning author Caroline Linden launches a scandalously sexy new historical romance series set in Regency England.

Joan Bennett is a breath away from being a spinster. She’s had four seasons without a suitor. After reading a shockingly sensuous book, Fifty Ways to Sin, Joan decides perhaps it’s time to stop being proper and start being sinful, while she’s still young enough to enjoy it. And what better partner than her brother’s drinking mate, Viscount Burke? He seems the type to know how to give a lady a lascivious adventure.

It seems that the viscount has qualms about trifling with a friend’s sister. That’s the way to end up betrothed. And he doesn’t want that—or does he?

LOVE AND OTHER SCANDALS by Caroline Linden is an exciting Regency Historical Romance set in 1827 London. The beginning of a new series, and what a beginning. Joan no longer wants proper but seduction and passion after four Seasons on the marriage mart with no suitors or marriage offers she wants a little sin. Well not only can embarking on a little sin be improper it can cause a bit of scandal as well. Tristan doesn’t want a wife but a few passionate kisses could just change his mind.
