My thoughts:

The Elusive Lady Winston, by Layna Pimentel, is a “A Regency Rendezvous Romance”, #5. Each book is from fabulous new series, by different authors and each book can be read as stand alone. A Novella that is as charming as it is enjoyable. The cast of characters are delightful, entertaining and believable. The plot is delightful, flows seamlessly and is very interesting. An unlikely attraction and a unlikely meeting catch these two characters off guard, and thus the story begins….
This is the story of Evan, the Earl of Chisholm and Lady Eliza Winston. A story of scandal, deceit, secrets, danger, passion and finding a HEA after years of sorrow and grief.
Fast paced with twists and turns that will keep the reader turning pages to see who does what and why. An unlikely villian, and second chances, makes THE ELUSIVE LADY WINSTON a captivating story. I enjoyed Evan and Eliza’s story very much. These two characters just may heal each other from their past to begin a new future, not without struggles, and danger, though. While, a novella, of approximately 151 pages, Ms. Pimentel manages to write a story without flaws, unanswered questions nor does it leave the reader wondering. A captivating and exciting story of second chances, love and the struggles to get to a HEA. Mesmerizing tale! Well done, indeed, Layna Pimentel! !

Product Description (From Amazon)

“No eligible bachelor wants to marry a bluestocking…especially not those frightful Chadwick girls.” – Lady Jersey, Almacks Patroness.

Amelia’s writing was often prone to getting her into trouble. Hence why she eventually took on a penname. But it seems, once again, her unthinking need to spill out everything onto paper will land her in hot water.

After her sisters persuade her the only way to get over her love for Lord Nicholas Wentworth is to write about him, Amelia devotes hours and hours of ink to the subject. However, she never expects for Nicholas to end up in possession of this information. How could she admit her affection for him when she knows full well he is still in love with her now married sister?

To save herself embarrassment—and more importantly to keep her penname hidden—Amelia must find a way to intercept these letters, and if she cannot, she must persuade Nicholas it was all some awful jest and that she is certainly not A. Hardwick—purveyor of stories so scandalous that it would mean utter ruination for all the Chadwick girls should the truth come out.

My thoughts:

Amelia and the Viscount (Bluestocking Brides Book 1) by Samantha Holt in what promises to be a funny and delightful series. Those Chadwick sisters may been bluestockings, have noteriety, are different and not popular with the ton, but you can’t help but love them.
This is Nicholas and Amelia’s story. A quick read, approximatingly 100 pages. A novel. Nicholas and Amelia make such a wonderful couple. Amelia, a writer who writes stories anonymously, but she knows she is meant for Nicholas. A friend’s to lovers story.

Funny, charming with an engaging cast of characters. The plot flows seamlessly and effortlessly. I was glued to the pages from the first page forward. Steady paced, well written and we’ll worth the time to read. Laugh out loud moments. Amelia’s secret may just bring her HEA.
Such a wonderful story. A charming, enjoyable and pleasing story. Great for an afternoon read! Does have a few heated kisses and one hot sexual encounter.
Strongly recommended. Can’t wait for the next book. I have already pre-ordered book 2.

A dour duke and a wistful wallflower—an impossible match until fate intervenes one enchanted night.

A dour duke.
Jules, the Sixth Duke of Dandridge disdains Society and all its trappings, preferring the country’s solitude and peace. Already jaded and cynical since the woman he loved died years ago, he’s become even more so since unexpectedly inheriting a dukedom’s responsibilities and finding himself the target of every husband-hunting vixen in London.

A wistful wallflower.
Forever in her stunning sister’s shadow, Jemmah Dament has adored Jules from afar for years—since as children they were the best of friends. She daren’t dream she can win a duke’s heart any more than she hopes to escape the life of servitude imposed on her by an uncaring mother. Jemmah knows full well, Jules is too far above her station. Besides, his family has already selected his perfect duchess: a poised, polished, exquisite blueblood.

But one enchanted night.
A chance encounter reunites Jules and Jemmah, resulting in a passionate interlude neither can forget. Jules realizes he wants more—much more—than Jemmah’s sweet kisses or her warming his bed. He must somehow convince her to gamble on a dour duke. But can Jemmah trust a rogue promised to another? One who’s sworn never to love again?

Caution: This Historical Regency Romance contains a duke who literally thumbs his nose at society, a sweet and intelligent wallflower with a secret dream, a villainess worthy of a fairy tale, and two delightful match-making dowagers.

Buy this book for an emotional, entertaining, and romantic fairy-tale meets Regency world adventure you won’t want to put down.

Coming July 24, 2017!

My thoughts:

A Diamond for a Duke by Collette Cameron is a delightful Regency Romance. A novella based loosely on Jean Perreault’s classic fairytale, “Toads and Diamonds”. This is a sweet romance with plenty of humor to satifisy your funny bone. The cast of characters are enjoyable and charming. You can’t help but fall in love Jules and Jemmah. The storyline flows seemingly and was well executed. The plot, while, serious, (mental abuse), there are laugh out loud moments.
Once again, Collette Cameron has written another hit, that will keep you glued to the pages as you follow Jemmah and Jules on their journey of a lifetime, as they find their way to a HEA.
Another keeper and and must read!

“A Kiss For Charity first appeared in the Bluestocking Belles’ 2016 box set, Holly and Hopeful Hearts. It’s now available for individual sale. Bonus material includes several original pieces published on the Belles’ blog the Teatime Tattler.”

From darkened paths of Vauxhall Gardens to a countryside estate called Hollystone Hall, readers will find depth, understanding, past hurts that keep Grace and Nicholas from opening their hearts. “A Kiss For Charity” has just the right amount of sparks, holiday cheer, and romance to keep readers engaged and turning pages to see what happens to Grace and Nicholas.

St. Helena Vineyard Series: Healing Hearts (Kindle Worlds Novella) (Second Chances series) by Reina Torres is a quick read that’s perfect to curl up to on a cold night. Set against the fictional community of St. Helena Vineyards.
It will grab your heart from the beginning and hold you in awe. It is a 3 part book series, but can be read as a stand alone. Has re-appearing characters but does leave the reader confused, if not read the other two in the series. Very emotional but well worth the time to read.
The characters are realistic and true to life in more than one way. The storyline is well written and emotionally charged.
I enjoy Ms. Torres talented storytelling! She may be a fairly new author but a very talented one.
A Novella packed full of emotions, part of the Kindle Worlds series. Although, a quick read, Ms. Torres manages to make the story not feel rushed, and manages to tell this incredible story with such ferocity that the reader is spellbound.
Although, I really had a hard time connecting to the hero in the beginning, he manages to redeem himself by the end. The heroine has a heart that is wounded, and a dreaded diagnois but she manages to hang on to hope and her spirit. But will she be able to find her HEA before it’s too late?
If you are a fan of second chances, emotionally charged romance and talented writing, then “Healing Hearts” is the story for you to read. Why don’t you give it a try, I feel you will be overjoyed you did. I enjoyed seeing these two characters find themselves and find their second chance. A sweet but sometimes difficult romance to read, due to the emotional turmoil. A definite pick up your spirit kinda of read. Perfect for a moment of alone time! My only complaint, I didn’t want the story to end.

Everything in her life has changed, except her fear of loving a Navy SEAL on active duty. Yet while her practical mind tells her one thing, her fast-beating heart says something else. What if she makes a decision she’ll regret forever?

Rekindled, A Christmas Novella by Marliss Melton and Trish Dawson is a great Contemporary Romance set in Edenton, North Carolina. Second chances, small town romance, Military romance, and rekindling romance makes for some great reading. BTW, I loved the location in Edenton, North Carolina, I lived near there, in the snall town of Creswell, and I do mean small, for years and am familiar with the location. What a plus for me!

Navy SEAL Alex Morrigan and Tori Wilde are a great couple, albeit a bit confused after a two year break from their relationship, from their feelings for each other and dealing with a long distance relationship. Tori is moving on with her life, she is dating and on the verge of being engaged. Alex is expecting a wonderful reunion, boy, will he be shocked!
Tori is a strong, independent women who owns her on bakery business, but she feels her family’s disappointment, she still has feelings for Alex, he was her first love, afterall. But, the long distance relationship was taking its tow on her life, she knows the strain that a long distance relationship has on a Military couple, and the endless waiting for his return. Alex, is now stationed near Edenton, their home town, and feels that it’s time to rekindle their relationship. Won’t he be shocked to learn Tori is dating and almost engaged! He gets into his “courting mode”. But can Alex and Tori rekindle their love during this magical time of Christmas?

While, a quick read, only about 77 pages, Ms. Melton and Ms. Dawson, manages to bring together a very satisfying read, that has cute, sometimes funny one liners, charm, warmth, and will leave the reader with that warm and fuzzy feeling, Christmas stories often bring to life.
I enjoyed seeing Alex and Tori rekindle their love for each other and make their relationship stronger. But, will they be able to make their relationship work this time? Will Tori be able to overcome her fear of being in a relationship with an active Navy SEAL? You’re have to read, “Rekindled, A Christmas Novella” to find out for yourself.
A satisfying and enjoyable Christmas season read. I believe this is the start, “Southern Series”, book 1of a new and what promises to be an exciting series. I hope so, anyway. Can’t wait to read more! I would have enjoyed a longer version, but I enjoyed this story, all the seem. Would I recommend reading “Rekindled”, yes I would! A quick read for when you only have a few moments in your day. Great job, ladies! Hope to see more in the future!

Can a Scrooge of a man change his ways before he loses the most wonderful woman in the world, forever? Find out in Hired Heart.

(For those readers who have enjoyed my Tarnished Saints Series, you will find five characters from that series who make guest appearances in this book!)

Hired Heart: December Indulgence (An Indulgences Novella Book 13) by Elizabeth Rose is a sweet Contemporary Romance set against the backdrop of Aragon Island, Panama, where fantasies can come true. While, Book 13, it can be read as a stand alone. Readers who enjoyed Ms. Rose’s “Tarnished Saints” series, will be overjoyed to learn at least five of the characters from Sweetwater also make guest appearances in “Hired Heart”.
The “December Indulgence” series, is part of an exciting Multi-author collection, set on a resort island. A Novella, only about 128 pages, which is packed full of the romantic fantasies of the Christmas season.

Samantha Forester is an administrative assistant, and is in love with, Max Southerland, her Scrooge boss, who just so happens to hate the Christmas season. She books a trip to Aragon Island to do a follow-up on the villas their crew installed, meantime she takes the liberty of booking them both indulgence fantasies, at the Indulgences Resort. Max is unaware this trip is more than a business trip. He’s in for a few surprises! With the help of a few friends from Sweetwater, can Sam make Max see she’s the woman he needs in his world and his life, before it’s too late? Take a trip to Indulgences Island to find out, in “Hired Heart”.

“Hired Heart”, is a light-hearted romance set on the beautiful Aragon Island. Ms. Rose descriptions makes the reader wish to visit there themselves. They were so vivid, I could almost feel the warm breeze and smell the amazing fragrance of this paradise island. My only complaint, I would have loved to seen it a bit longer, however, with that said, Ms. Rose manages to get her story across to the reader, without any difficulties.

Well written with engaging characters and a unique storyline. With the help of friends and a matchmaker from Sweetwater, this story comes to life with their antics, especially, Aunt Crappy. Once again, Elizabeth Rose has written a story that will take your breath away, as you follow these characters on their journey to find a HEA.

This is the first story I’ve read in this series, but I certainly wish to read the rest. Ms. Rose is an amazing storyteller, one who pulls the reader into her story and grips their heart, as the characters race to find their forever dreams and the love of a lifetime. A great read from beginning to end! I would recommend to fans of Contemporary Romance, islands, fantasies indulgence, guest appearance from other stories and the Christmas season. Very enjoyable and a satisfying read!

Vikings evoke images of strong men who allow nothing to stand in their way. They’re not normally associated with tender feelings. Wildflowers conjure more personal and sentimental images. In BANISHED, a handful of bluebells picked from a meadow by childhood sweethearts becomes a symbol and eventually an acknowledgement of a love long denied.
Audra longs to leave behind the life of an elite mercenary, a role forced on her after her father’s banishment from the Viking brotherhood.
A journey from exile to the court of King Canute offers a new life, though she fears few men will want her once her history is known.
The bloody feud that precipitated her father’s banishment resurfaces when she is unexpectedly reunited with a childhood sweetheart. Sigmar has always held her heart, but he is the son of her father’s enemy. Sigmar’s hopes for advancement in Canute’s service will be dashed if he obeys the dictates of family honor.
Can Audra and Sigmar lay the hatreds of the past to rest, or will the Viking code of vengeance triumph?

This novella first appeared in the anthology SIRENS OF THE NORTHERN SEAS

Book Description (Courtesy of Amazon)

September 8, 2014
With five siblings to care for, Prudence Hixsby’s duty comes first, even if it means becoming a spinster. When the eldest – and most cherished – of her younger brothers decides to join the war, however, Prudence is determined to keep him safe. So she strikes a bargain with an old acquaintance: her body in exchange for her brother’s safety.
In the dead of the night, she slips into the bed of a man whose touch is both fierce and passionate… little knowing she’s just seduced the wrong man.
Harrison Carlisle, the Duke of Sutcliffe, never imagined that the lovely Prudence would honour his bed, or just how bewitching those lush curves could be. Yet he keeps a gentleman’s silence. After all, a spy for the Crown can ill afford to marry. But when Prudence’s brother is killed, they find themselves uniting to track down the traitorous murderer. And while death lurks within the shadowy world of espionage, there is also passion… and the unbidden thrill of a seduction!
A Masquerading Mistresses Novella
A fast paced novella, which is well written with an intriguing storyline and well-defined and engaging characters. Part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone easily. Another hit by the amazing storyteller. A perfect Fall read! Filled with danger, romance, and intrigue. And if course the right mixture of intrigue, seduction and romance. I would highly recommend.
