Description

Finished book size will be much bigger than 1 page.

Whisky made her forget. One man’s love will help her remember.

He could have walked away when he learned of his bride’s secret — that she is a raging alcoholic. But Brogan Mackintosh is not the kind of man to turn a blind eye to someone in need. He battled his own demons and won the fight against drink years before. Facing the challenges head on, like the battle hardened warrior he is, he is determined to help his new bride overcome the demons that haunt her. And he might even learn the truth surrounding the murders of her husband and infant son.

Mairghread Mactavish isn’t sure she can continue to breathe anymore without the aid of wine and whisky. Plunging herself into the dark abyss of drunkenness was the only place where she could catch glimpses, bits and pieces of her memory from the night her world was torn apart. When she learns the truth about the man she is to marry — a man who has murdered more than one wife and raped countless other women — she makes a desperate decision to marry Brogan Mackintosh instead. Brogan offers her more than a way out of marrying a murderer, however. He might be the only man who can give her back the life she once lived.
This is a story about overcoming grief and alcoholism and finding true love in your darkest hours.

My thoughts:

Brogan’s Promise by Suzan Tisdale is a one of those WOW stories, that you never forget. Book #3 but can be read as a stand alone.

I absolutely loved everything about this story, yes, including the villian. What an amazing read, well worth the wait. I couldn’t put it down, read it in one setting. An edge of your seat kind of book!

Well written with an enjoyable cast of characters who are strong and brave. The plot is most intriguing. The H/H are a good match. The story flows seemingly. Ms. Tisdale did an outstanding job in bringing across to the reader the consequences of alcoholism to family, friends and the struggles to overcome. What a gut-wrenching tale of grief, despair, betrayal, mystery, and romance.
Ms. Tisdale manages to give readers a glimpse, with clarity, of the cause and effect of alcoholism. The suspense in “Brogan’s Promise” is breathtaking, as well as intriguing. I am in awe how Ms. Tisdale managed to pull this story together with all the different facets and made the reader feel as though they were right with the heroine as she fought her demons, came to terms with her weakness, and grief, to find healing and learn the truth of the tragic event that changed her life forever. I don’t believe Brogan could have been anymore determined, patient or kinder to his new bride, even after the tragedy she believes was her fault. He was a savior in more ways than one. An absolute true hero in every sense of the word.
Have tissues at the ready as you will need them. I absolutely would recommend “Brogan’s Promise”!! Well done, indeed, Susan Tisdale! I can’t wait to read the next installment. A definite keeper and must read.

My thoughts:

The Promise of a Highlander by Emma Prince is one of those WOW stories. While #5, in this highly anticipated series, “Highland Bodyguards”, it can be read as a stand alone. I would however, suggest reading #4, “Claimed by the Highlander” to get more on Logan’s backstory, but not necessary, to thoughly enjoy “The Promise of a Highlander”.

What a fast paced tale with a most enjoyable cast of characters. Well written with many twists and turns, secrets, passion, healing, danger and romance in a time of great Scottish turmoil, treacherous, intrigue and betrayal.

Logan Mackenzie, Helena and Logan’s beloved sister, Mairin, are the stars in “The Promise of a Highlander”, and what a cast they present. A heart warming, gut wrenching and delicious love story. Logan and Helena’s story will take your breathe away, as you learn more of their troubled past, their secrets and watch their healing process. I absolutely loved this story! I was not disappointed in Logan’s back story, nor has secrets and the hurt he carried, it helped make him the man he became.

Emma Prince has done it again! She never seizes to amaze me with her ability to tell a story and draw the reader into the story. Her characterization, her descriptions and her research of Scotland is magnificent. Another masterpiece! Highly recommended! ! Well done, indeed, Emma Prince!! I can’t wait for the next installment.

What is a Highlander to do when he falls for the daughter of his enemy?

Highland warrior, Blane Sutherland, has one mission: disguise himself as an Englishman, cross the border and retrieve Lady Aliah de Mowbray. Always up for a challenge, he agrees, pursuing his conquest with vigor—and trying to deny the powerful desire that eclipses him each time he touches his charge. A rogue of the highest order and a younger son, he has nothing to offer a lady but a broken heart.

And what is a lady to do when she cannot trust her heart?

Aliah is skeptical of the English noble who has come to take her to her father and sister in Scotland, but she pushes her doubts aside. Without word in months, she must make certain her family is safe, then she can return to England to join the convent to which she has sworn to pledge her life. But then her escort reveals his true self—he’s a Highlander and his kisses are more seductive than the sweetest of wines.

My thoughts:

The Highlander’s Conquest (Stolen Bride #2) by Eliza Knight is a fantastic Medieval Scottish Romance set in England and Scotland. While, #2, it can be read as a stand alone. If you’ve not had a chance to read “The Highlander’s Reward”, #1, I’d definitely suggest reading it as well, as this is the story of Blane Sutherland, younger brother to the Laird of Sutherland, who disguises himself as an Englishman to sale the Sutherland’s wool in England. So when it became necessary to retrieve his brother’s wife’s younger sister, of course, Blane was the man to cross the border and retrieve her, bring her to Scotland to reunite with her sister and father, who had been wounded. Lady Aliah de Mowbray, is feisty, doesn’t trust the barbarian Scots, beautiful, she’s been protected all her life, and plans to vow her life to the church, but when danger persists, she shows Blane she can handle a bow and arrow, just like her sister. Aliah and Blane are a wonderful couple, one who deserves their HEA, their pull toward each other kept me turning the pages, from the beginning to the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed “The Higlander’s Conquest”. Ms. Knight has done it again with her vivid details, her strong characters, and her engaging story. I strongly recommend “The Highlander’s Conquest”. What a great read by Eliza Knight!!

Sorcha Ramsay is as willful as she is beautiful, and she has mastered the art of convincing others to do her bidding. She coerces a few guards to bring her on a hunting trip, but when an unidentified archer targets them, Sorcha is restricted to the castle grounds. Worse, she’s assigned a lout of a guardian—Cailean, the maddeningly handsome guard who saved her from the archer—until her sire returns from a visit to the Grants. How can she show her sire, the infamous Logan Ramsay, she’s grown up if she’s not allowed her freedom?

Though he intends never to marry, Cailean finds himself captivated by Sorcha’s beauty and brash charm. He’s determined to keep her safe from the archer, whether she wants him to or not. Then Sorcha’s sire returns with news that has the potential to ignite the Highlands: Laird Alexander Grant has been badly injured. Trouble is brewing, and the archer, who may or may not be connected to a larger plot against the Ramsays and the Grants, continues to target Sorcha.

As the danger mounts and Cailean and Sorcha are brought together again and again, their heated attraction becomes a deeper connection. But can Cailean convince Logan, the most fearsome man in the Highlands, that he is a worthy match for his firstborn daughter?
My Thoughts:

Sorcha (The Highland Clan) Book 8 by Keira Montclair is an absolute pleasure to read. Can be read as a stand alone. Ms. Montclair has written a story that has so much to offer readers, it has danger, adventure, drama, excitement, a bit of humor, some witty banter and romance.
I was pulled into Cailean McAdam and Sorcha Ramsay’s story from the very beginning. Sorcha has gone from a wee lassie to a grown lass, which perturbes her father, Logan, the most feared man in the Highlands. He is legendary. Cailean is proud, strong and brave, a guard for the Ramsay’s, and also cares deeply for Sorcha, but he’s not in her social class, he’s a mere guard. Can he convince Logan he is a worthy suitor? Has Sorcha’s feelings grown to love? Will they survive the danger they are facing, from unknown assailants?

Readers, will simply be factinated and thrilled as they are reading, “Sorcha”. I myself was astonished at Cailean and Sorcha’s young love and how Cailean finally gave in to marriage, family, love, and how he was determined to prove his love, even to the point of nearly dying. Friendship can turn to a strong and determined love. The antics of Logan was hilarious at times, sad at others, as he fears losing his beloved daughter. Every father’s nightmare.

I highly recommend this fast paced, thrilling and highly anticipated story. It has everything a romance reader could possibly wish in a Scottish Romance, and more. Brilliantly and masterfully written. The cast of characters were fantastic, even the villains were quiet convincing, which only added to Cailean
and Sorcha’a story.
Keira Montclair is one of my go to Medieval Scottish Romance authors. She never disappoints me, she always leaves me in absolute awe. What a mesmerizing story!! Well done, Ms. Montclair! I can’t wait to read the next grand adventure. Powerful and compelling. A definite must read for fans of Scottish Romance.

The war is coming steadily closer, and Mairead MacGregon makes it her business to know everything she can about the inevitable clash. But she is thrown off guard when she learns of a potential marriage plan between herself and a neighboring laird. Desperate to prevent this union from occurring, she decides to make the dangerous trek to Bracken Ridge, and elicit the help of one man who might love her enough to save her. The only requirement now is to convince the brooding Messenger to escort her to the war zone…

Except Thom MacCullvin refuses the beauty’s proposal. His life is complicated enough. He believes that his dealings with the appealing lass are over until he discovers Mairead trailing after him. Forced to take her along with him on his journey, he finds himself softening toward her. Somehow she begins to lift the darkness in his heart. Yet even as the undeniable attraction between them sizzles and burns, he is painfully aware that she loves another. Can Thom be enough for her to forget the other man? Or will she leave him once they reach Bracken Ridge?

MY THOUGHTS

Highland Messenger (Scottish Strife Series Book 4) by Dana D’Angelo is a captivating Medieval Scottish Romance. While, Book 4 in her amazing “Scottish Strife” series, it can be read as a stand alone, with no issues.
Mairead MacGregon and Thom MacCullvin are such compelling characters. Thom presents a hard exterior, but he is gentle, caring and a fierce warrior, who is also a messenger for the Scottish Crown. Mairead, is feisty, determined and beautiful, she is one of Rory MacCullvin’s sister, from a previous book. Of course, sparks fly, in more ways than one, Thom and Mairead same to always be bucking horns.

Follow, Mairead and Thom on their trek through the Highlands to Bracken Ridge, while they face danger, and their undeniable attraction to each other. But will Mairead find that her savior, may not be, her childhood crush, Blane, but maybe this tough, rugged Highlander, before it’s too late?
Well written, fast paced, heart-pounding story of secrets, treachery, passion, misunderstandings, and the quest to finding a HEA and seek revenge, for a wrong preceived to a loved one. But things are not as they seem.
The characters are engaging, but roughly flawed, with caring, gentle hearts. I hope some of the secondary characters find their own stories. What a great cast of characters!
Once again, Ms. D’Angelo held me captivated to the pages of this mesmerizing Medieval Scottish Romance. She never disappoints me, but holds me in anticipation to the next adventure. One of my favorite Scottish Romance authors!
I absolutely loved “Highland Messenger”, from the first page to the last, it was utterly intriguing. WOW, another hit by Dana D’Angelo!
Fans of Medevial Scottish Romance, fierce, and loyal Highlanders, secrets, treachery and possibly treason, are sure to enjoy “Highland Messenger”, I certainly did. Highly recommended!
