Sorcha Ramsay is as willful as she is beautiful, and she has mastered the art of convincing others to do her bidding. She coerces a few guards to bring her on a hunting trip, but when an unidentified archer targets them, Sorcha is restricted to the castle grounds. Worse, she’s assigned a lout of a guardian—Cailean, the maddeningly handsome guard who saved her from the archer—until her sire returns from a visit to the Grants. How can she show her sire, the infamous Logan Ramsay, she’s grown up if she’s not allowed her freedom?

Though he intends never to marry, Cailean finds himself captivated by Sorcha’s beauty and brash charm. He’s determined to keep her safe from the archer, whether she wants him to or not. Then Sorcha’s sire returns with news that has the potential to ignite the Highlands: Laird Alexander Grant has been badly injured. Trouble is brewing, and the archer, who may or may not be connected to a larger plot against the Ramsays and the Grants, continues to target Sorcha.

As the danger mounts and Cailean and Sorcha are brought together again and again, their heated attraction becomes a deeper connection. But can Cailean convince Logan, the most fearsome man in the Highlands, that he is a worthy match for his firstborn daughter?
My Thoughts:

Sorcha (The Highland Clan) Book 8 by Keira Montclair is an absolute pleasure to read. Can be read as a stand alone. Ms. Montclair has written a story that has so much to offer readers, it has danger, adventure, drama, excitement, a bit of humor, some witty banter and romance.
I was pulled into Cailean McAdam and Sorcha Ramsay’s story from the very beginning. Sorcha has gone from a wee lassie to a grown lass, which perturbes her father, Logan, the most feared man in the Highlands. He is legendary. Cailean is proud, strong and brave, a guard for the Ramsay’s, and also cares deeply for Sorcha, but he’s not in her social class, he’s a mere guard. Can he convince Logan he is a worthy suitor? Has Sorcha’s feelings grown to love? Will they survive the danger they are facing, from unknown assailants?

Readers, will simply be factinated and thrilled as they are reading, “Sorcha”. I myself was astonished at Cailean and Sorcha’s young love and how Cailean finally gave in to marriage, family, love, and how he was determined to prove his love, even to the point of nearly dying. Friendship can turn to a strong and determined love. The antics of Logan was hilarious at times, sad at others, as he fears losing his beloved daughter. Every father’s nightmare.

I highly recommend this fast paced, thrilling and highly anticipated story. It has everything a romance reader could possibly wish in a Scottish Romance, and more. Brilliantly and masterfully written. The cast of characters were fantastic, even the villains were quiet convincing, which only added to Cailean
and Sorcha’a story.
Keira Montclair is one of my go to Medieval Scottish Romance authors. She never disappoints me, she always leaves me in absolute awe. What a mesmerizing story!! Well done, Ms. Montclair! I can’t wait to read the next grand adventure. Powerful and compelling. A definite must read for fans of Scottish Romance.

A thief turned reluctant protector… A countess who resents but can’t resist him…

The Reiver
Sir Geoffrey has dedicated his life to exacting revenge on the men who killed his parents and stole his birthright. The son of a baron, he has been reduced to stealing the resources he needs to reclaim his family legacy. Just when he’s on the verge of success, his uncle asks him to put his plans on hold to help protect a wealthy countess. It’s a distraction Geoffrey resents, even more so when he meets Lady Sara. The gorgeous, complicated and alluring lady is everything he’d want in a woman—and everything he can’t have.

The Countess
With her betrothed coming to claim her hand in marriage and a distant cousin intent on usurping her earldom, Lady Sara Caiser feels beset by controlling men including two lawless border reivers who serve as her protectors. Despite her misgivings, an undeniable attraction pulls her into Sir Geoffrey’s arms. The man is more dangerous than she believed, for he’s noble, caring and sinfully attractive. As the threats against her continue to mount, Sara must decide what’s more important—her duty or her heart.

The Thief’s Countess by Cecelia Mecca is an addictive and brilliantly written story of honor, duty and love. Book 1 in what promises to be an extraordinary series, “Border” series. See the prequel, “The Ward’s Bride”. Set against the Anglo-Saxon border in the 13th century (1271), Northumbria, England. What a great Medevial Romance!

From the first page to the last, I was intrigued and glued to the pages. I couldn’t figure how Sir Geoffrey,
a Reiver, who needs to reclaim his inheritance, who seeks his revenge and Lady Sara Caiser, a Countess, an extraordinary lady of good breeding, alluring and complicated, would find their HEA, with so much against them. However, Ms. Mecca manages to pull it all together in a dramatic and heart felt ending. I loved these two characters, they were so caring, honor bound and determined to make the best out of the hand life dealt them. The secondary characters were perfect, Geoffrey’s Uncle Hugh and Sara’s lady’s maid, Faye, were perfect together, even in secret.

Fast paced with historical details, much research, Medevial challenges and the pressures of Medevial life, brings “The Thief’s Countess”, to life and adds more intrigue to the story. My only complaint, the ending felt a bit rushed, but was satisfying, as well as, exciting.
Many questions were answered. Filled with danger, suspense, mystery, intrigue, adventure, passion and romance. Everything Medevial Romance fans will love with twists and turns and a few surprises. I feel Cecelia Mecca is a new debut author to watch for, her writing is masterful, talented and an author I intend to follow. Her writing feels as if she’s been writing for years. Very impressive indeed! An outstanding Medevial Romance from a very talented author! I can’t wait to read Book 2, coming soon! A must read! Bravo, Cecelia Mecca! !

If Euan reveals who he really is to the woman he saved, he risks not only his life, but his clan. Left with no choice, can they save each other while they fall in love?

His Highland Heart by Willa Blair is a heart pounding and captivating Scottish Medieval Romance. “HIS HIGHLAND HEART” series is Book 1 in what definitely promises to be a magnificent series. Oh what a beginning!

This is the story of Euan Brodie and Muireall Munroe.

Shipwrecked in enemy territory, Euan fears the rest of his crew are lost at the bottom of the Moray Firth. He knows he must escape from the Ross Clan before he becomes a captive. Three Munro lasses, Muireall Munro, Ella Munro, and another of their friends, are taken from their home, by Ross raiders nearly a month ago. Well written story, with captivating characters and an intriguing storyline. Emotionally charged, with a wide range of emotions for the reader. I cried, was filled with angst for Euan,Muireall, and the others, but in the end some will find their happiness. Will the villains finally get what they deserve?

Once again, Ms. Blair has written a powerful Scottish Romance, with many twists and turns, secrets, the danger is palpable, the romance exciting with an unexpected but welcomed outcome. Ms. Blair never disappoints me. She is another of my favorite Scottish Historical Romance authors. I can’t wait to read more from this mesmerizing and compelling series, Ella and, which promises to be yet another high octane story. Callum is Euan’s best friend, and one of the crew members to survive, on that fated voyage. Ella is Muireall’s best friend and wishes to escape her ordeal from the Clan Ross. What amazingcharacters! Can’t wait to read their story!

Whew! “His Highland Heart” is definitely a keeper and a treasure! One I feel will be re-read again! Definitely a not to miss Scottish Historical Romance! Highly recommended!
Fans or Scottish Romance, Medieval Romance, uniquely written stories, and the power of friendships and finding a HEA, will definitely enjoy this masterfully written story. I know certainly did and am still reeling from the Muireall and Euan’s story.

 November 24, 2013
He has a duty to his king and country and has no time or interest in love…

Enemies to the throne roam the land, threatening the security of the kingdom just as rumors and accusations of high treason reach King Edward’s ear. In an effort to provide security to the state, the king dispatches Derrik d’Evant, a trusted young knight and royal envoy, to locate the mastermind behind the threat, and bring the traitorous lord to stand trial.

When Derrik arrives at Stanbury Castle, the lord’s beautiful daughter greets him with hostility. But even with the cold reception and knowing that it is unwise to become entangled with a traitor’s daughter, he is unable to resist the fiery beauty or her magnetic allure. And as he accompanies her on her quest, she invokes within him a long neglected and scorching need that grows, threatening to consume him in its power. Yet through all this, he knows that he must cast aside his feelings for her, remembering all too well that he is on a mission — a mission where failure cannot occur.

She acts out of devotion for her family and discovers love of a different kind…

Amelie de Calmette, forced to acknowledge the consequences of the treasonous allegations against her father, knows that few people live to see the light of day if they are accused of this serious crime. Her heart and mind convinces her that her father is innocent. And while the handsome knight assists her in searching for answers, she cannot bring herself to fully trust him, nor can she fight the spark of desire that ignites and burns whenever he is near.

And even as they follow their own agendas, they must suspend their suspicions long enough for them to join forces. Then as they get closer to finding the truth, they become ensnared in a complicated web of royal treachery, dangerous temptation, and cruel deception. They must choose either to distrust each other or believe what is within their hearts, for nothing is as it seems when duty and passion collide.
