“Sarah Hegger has a gift for storytelling that is not to be missed. She’s a personal favorite of mine.” —Kathryn Le Veque, USA Today bestselling author

A practical marriage…

He married for convenience, but William of Anglesea had hoped for more than piety from his new bride. Raised in a convent and thrice widowed, prim Lady Alice of Tarnwych seems like an innocent when it comes to the marriage bed—except for the tentative passion he senses in her touch, and sees in her eyes. It seems the bold knight has a new challenge in alluring Alice. But will seducing his intriguing wife lead to his downfall?

An inconvenient desire…

Everything about charming, free-spirited William defies the cloistered world Lady Alice comes from. Duty brings her to their bed—and a long-held hope for a child. Yet after three indifferent husbands, the desire William shows her awakens her own. Little did Alice expect the powerful feelings he would inspire, emotions that make her ready to abandon her rigid beliefs, and the only family she’s ever known—when William’s life is on the line…

My Thoughts:

Conquering William by Sarah Hegger is a mesmerizing Medieval Historical Romance. Set with the English borderland as a background. Book 3 in the “Sir Arthur’s Legacy”, but can be read as a stand alone. See, “Sweet Bea”, and “My Lady Faye”.

Sir William of Anglesea, a Knight, free-spirited, sexy, steadfast, loyal, has a large, loving family just married for convenience and duty. But he’s hoping for more than a piety marriage, from, Lady Alice of Tarnwych. Who is a widow three times over, comely, loyal to a fault, duty-bound, cloistered from the outside world, but dreams of one day having a happy, loving marriage with children of her own.

Sister Julianna, the nun who raised Lady Alice, and is also her Aunt, has big secrets of her own. There is an uneasy feeling that surrounds Sister Julianna. She influences Lady Alice, to distraction and is very selfish, self-serving and not very kind. I wanted to just slap her and send her packing, but bless William, he has the patient of a saint, in this regard. Lady Alice’s father had no time or desire to be with his daughter, so she was raised by Sister Julianna, in a near-like convent environment, although, in a stronghold.

Fast paced, heart-pounding, tale of secrets, treachery, lies, deception, mystery, suspense, danger, passion and the beauty of finding love and hopefully, a peaceful HEA.

“Conquering William” has such a uniqueness that surrounds the story, and the characters, that the impact it has is tremendous, captivating and mesmerizing, or to me, anyway.
I was totally surprised from beginning to end and all throughout. While, the reader may think they know the secrets within, they will be shocked when they learn the biggest secret of all. It was hard to understand Lady Alice’s reaction to William’s youngest brother, who is handicapped. The reader knows it will be something overwhelming and catastrophic to a young Lady Alice, but will it destroy the tender relationship her and William are building?
Will Sister Julianna destroy the HEA William and Lady Alice is searching for, or will they stop her before it’s too late?

What an amazing storyteller, Ms. Hegger is, one who draws the reader in and holds them in awe. You can feel the sensual tension, the tension amongst the people, the angst, turmoil and love as it flows off the pages. WOW! What a captivating and mesmerizing Medieval Historical Romance! Highly recommended for fans of Medieval Romance, uniquely written, highly explosive story with many twists and turns. I read it in one setting. Once you get started it was hard to put down.

Magnificent storytelling! Powerful, compelling and emotionally charged!
I can’t wait to see what Ms. Hegger has in store for readers next. I hope you will put up a copy, of “Conquering William” you will not regret your choice of reading material.

SOMETIMES TEMPTATION… A hardened mercenary as adept in bed as in battle, Simon Quinn can have any woman he wants, but he prefers those who know the rules of the game. That way it’s easier to leave them behind… CAN’T BE AVOIDED But Lysette Rousseau is one female he can’t figure out. Beautiful, sensual, seductive, she should be the perfect match for Simon, yet something about her ties him in knots. Bold and manipulative one time, sweetly innocent the next, she is an enigma bound to bring trouble… impossible to resist. DON’T TEMPT ME by Sylvia Day is an exciting Georgian Erotic Historical Romance set in 1757 Paris, France. #4 in the “Georgian”series, but can be read as a stand alone. See,”Ask for It”,” Passion for the Game”,and “A Passion for Him”.Re-issue from 2008.  “Don’t Tempt Me” is the story of Simon Quinn,a spy and mercenary and Lynette Baillon, who has lost her twin sister. Filled with danger, secrets, deceit, lies, vengeance, passion, and love. Lynette’s twin sister,Lysette has been dead for two years,or so her family believes. Lysette Rousseau ,is a hired assassin, who lost her memory two years ago.Ms. Day has carefully woven subplots of Lysette and Edward James, as well as the story of Simon and Lynette, and the twins mother, Marguerite, her ex-lover, the Marquess of Saint-Martin,and her husband De Grenier. Brilliant plot with engaging characters. Fast paced. A true page turner. I enjoyed not only the characters as the truth unfolds, but the plot of taming an assassin and a mercenary. Powerful story of how love can save even the most wicked,as is not what it seems and the betrayal of one you trust. While, this title is listed as Erotic, the sensual part was not over the top. If you enjoy historical, the Georgian era, romance, and the power of love you don’t want to mess “Don’t Tempt Me”. A must read! I have enjoyed this series and can’t wait to read the next installment. Ms. Day pulls her readers into the story and holds them there. Recieved for an honest review from the publisher.

PASSION FOR THE GAME by Sylvia Day is another exciting Georgian Erotic  Historical  Romance set in England. An re-issue edition. #2 in the “Georgian” series, but again can be read as a stand alone.See, “Ask For It”. What an exciting series this is thus far. I absolutely love this series. We follow,Christopher St. John, criminal, and smuggler whom we seen briefly in “Ask For It” and determined to find justice for his murdered half brother and gain his freedom. And Maria, Lady Winter, infamous in Society, dubbed the Wintry Widow, but far from it to some and determined to find and bring home her little sister,Amelia, who is being held by her evil stepfather,in order to force Maria to do his bidding.  Both are charming, suspicious, fiercely loyal, either of them are to be crossed and wanted by the Crown for their misdeeds. Fast paced and filled with danger, passion, lust, lies, deceit, secrets, agents of the Crown and did I mention passionate love scenes. Together,Maria and St. John learn to trust each other, love blossoms, and justice to be found. Once again, Ms. Day draws the reader into this powerful story of not only passion, but family, rather true family or street family, and an intriguing plot. A sizzling love story from beginning to the last page and one you will want to continue to the next installment of this delicious “Georgian” series. While, I read this out of sequence, for I read  “A Passion For Him” first, which is #3 in the Georgian series, and is the story of Amelia and Colin, before “Passion For The Game” it did not take away from the story. I was eager to learn more of St. John and Maria and was not disappointed. I would highly recommend this title for not only Erotic readers, but for historical romance readers and anyone who enjoys a great read and “Passion For The Game”. In an enchanting novella from #1 New York Times bestselling author Victoria Alexander, eligible viscount Winfield Elliott searches for a bride and discovers that love may be lovelier the second–or even third–time around. . .Allow Me To Explain. . .

Some say I do not take my engagements seriously. Nonsense. What man with no interest in marriage would find himself proposing not once, but three times? And each time, I’ve felt certain that this, at last, is the absolutely, positively, perfect woman.

Miss Felicia Whitingdon, for instance, has youth, beauty, style, grace–and a handsome fortune. Lady Lucille Eustice is a widow of impeccable social standing, and a balm to my soul. Then there is Miss Caroline Hibbitt, sweet and charming in every way. Any one of these intoxicating treasures could make a man happy. Any one of them could be an ideal wife. But which–if any of them–will it be?

“For love, laughter, and lots of fun, read Victoria Alexander.” –Stephanie Laurens, New York Times bestselling author

“This Victorian yuletide romance provides erotic sizzle and delectably clever dialogue on every page.” –USA Today on His Mistress by Christmas

New York Times bestselling author Victoria Alexander was an award-winning television reporter until she discovered fiction was much more fun than real life. She turned to writing full time and has never looked back. Victoria grew up traveling the country as an Air Force brat and is now settled in a very old house in Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband, two allegedly grown children and two bearded collies. She firmly believes housework is a four-letter word, there are no calories in anything eaten standing up, procrastination is an art form, and it’s never too soon to panic.

LORD STILLWELL’S EXCELLENT ENGAGEMENTS by Victoria Alexander is a interesting Regency Historical Romance. A prequel Novella to “The Importance of Being Wicked”. A quick fun read with witty, sarcastic character in Lord Stillwell,Viscount Winfield Elliott. Will he ever find happiness and his own true love? We shall see! Very entertaining. Written partly, in letters to his cousin. A very well told story. But I am anticipating  his happy ever after ending. Well done,Victoria! Three broken engagements to his credit,Win is determined to find the love of his life. Fast paced read full of laughter and romance. A must read for a bit of laughter. A very enjoyable read!
