November 29, 2013 NY Times and USA Today bestselling author E.G. Foley presents The Gryphon Chronicles, a new series of historical fantasy adventure novels that’s as much fun for grownups as it is for kids!

Big Trouble…

Reunited with his aristocratic magical relatives, and finally getting used to his own supernatural powers, orphaned ex-pickpocket Jake Everton, the young Lord Griffon, travels on his first-ever holiday to beautiful Norway. There, at an amazing (steampunk!) Invention Convention, his cousin Archie, the boy genius, plans to unveil his marvelous new flying machine to the scientific world.

But legends of the Viking Age die hard in Scandinavia. Danger strikes as famous Victorian scientists start mysteriously disappearing. When Archie vanishes, too, Jake races to the rescue. With the help of his trusty pet Gryphon, he tracks the kidnapper to his lair—only to come face-to-face with an angry Norse giant!

From the whimsical steampunk oddities of the Invention Convention to wondrous worlds of Norse mythology, join Jake and his friends on a giant-sized adventure full of hair-raising dangers and big laughs!

MY THOUGHTS:

THE GRYPHON CHRONICLES: JAKE AND THE GIANT by E. G. Foley is a delightful Fantasy/Fiction/Adventure for Young Readers ages, 10 and Up. Set again in the Victorian Era. #2 in “The Gryphon Chronicles” but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would recommend reading book 1, “The Lost Heir”. The adventure continues in “Jake and The Giant”. Jake Everton, now Lord Griffon, has finally be re-united with his parents, and is coming to grips with his magical powers. When Jake’s cousin Archie, goes missing, along with other scientists, Jake races to the rescue. He comes face-to-face with a Norse giant. Filled with Norse mythology, magical creatures, a flying machine, legends, and of course a bit of danger and lots of adventure. Harry Potter has nothing on Jake and his friends. A wonderful Historical fantasy for young and old readers alike. Another hit for this amazing author. Well done. What an engaging story from beginning to end with a feel of Steampunk, historical,Fantasy and Adventure all mixed into one grand adventure. BIG TROUBLE comes to Jake and his friends in “Jake and the Giant”. Another must read! Received for an honest review from the author.

Widowed philanthropist Lady Amelia Audley would like nothing more than to forget wealthy bachelor Jake Hillary, but it’s blasted difficult when he is seated next to her at a dinner hosted by his mother. It’s even harder to forgive him for kissing her senseless a year earlier then disappearing without a word. Yet, Amelia must endure Jake’s company if she wishes to benefit from his mother’s connections and win support for a project dear to her heart, the renovation of the foundling hospital.

Jake Hillary has known nothing but heartbreak since he met Amelia. First, she chose his closest friend instead of him then she dismissed his love letters and took up with a rake while he tended to urgent family matters. When his debauched brother sets out to seduce her, Jake risks his heart once more and begins to court Amelia. Soon he and Amelia discover an abiding affection for one another, a love that has survived despite the efforts of others to keep them apart. Happiness seems within their reach at last until the past resurfaces and threatens to destroy their love forever.

MY THOUGHTS:

LADY AMELIA’S MESS AND A HALF by Samantha Grace is an exciting Regency historical romance. It is book #2 in “Beau Monde Bachelor” Series, but can be read as a stand alone. See,”Miss Hillary Schools a Scoundrel”. Follow Jake and Amelia from the ballrooms of England across the ocean to New Orleans in America. As they search for the truth,is Amelia’s husband really dead or faking his death and gone to New Orleans. With witty banter, lust, passion, desire, and love they finally find true happiness after years of unhappiness for Amelia with another,Jake’s best friend. A tale of lost love, betrayal by a best friend,a secret or two,the rekindling of love and a love that can last forever. Ms.Grace has written a story with an interesting plot and characters who are not only engaging but who will capture your heart and hold it. A fast paced story with twists and turns. The blooming love between two of the secondary characters is a wonderful side line. A wonderful, delectable historical full of promises of love, the magic of finding said love and passion. A must read! Another hit for Ms. Grace. I can hardly wait for what comes next in these engaging characters. Received for an honest review from the publisher and Net Galley.
