Highland Vixen by Mary Wine is a memorable and intriguing story. Book 2 in her amazing “Highland Weddings” series, however, can be read as a stand alone. See, Book 1. “Highland Spitfire”.
What an intriguing and fast paced tale!

Meet, Marcus MacPherson, a fierce Highland war chief and Helen Grant, stubborn, feisty lass, who causes all kinds of unexpected trouble. Will Marcus and Helen be able to tame each other or lose all, without finding their HEA?
I absolutely love Mary Wine’s detail to history, her rich dialog, her characterization brings the characters to life, her descriptions and the atmosphere of Scottish Highlands, makes the story particularly, fly off the pages. I was addicted from the first sentence to the last, “Highland Vixen”, lingers long after the last sentence.

Filled with danger, intrigue, suspense, mystery, adventure, action, a feisty heroine, a brawn Highlander, the passion between them is off the charts, while, they butt horns often, their attraction and chemistry is apparent from the beginning. This story is magnificently written! I love how Ms. Wine blends fact with fiction, and the magic of the Highlands with the love of a beautiful, indepentent and head-strong lass, a seductive, but fierce Highlander with a kind heart, together to give readers a captivating and seductive read. WOW, what a wondrous story, to be sure! A not to miss Scottish Historical Romance.

The war is coming steadily closer, and Mairead MacGregon makes it her business to know everything she can about the inevitable clash. But she is thrown off guard when she learns of a potential marriage plan between herself and a neighboring laird. Desperate to prevent this union from occurring, she decides to make the dangerous trek to Bracken Ridge, and elicit the help of one man who might love her enough to save her. The only requirement now is to convince the brooding Messenger to escort her to the war zone…

Except Thom MacCullvin refuses the beauty’s proposal. His life is complicated enough. He believes that his dealings with the appealing lass are over until he discovers Mairead trailing after him. Forced to take her along with him on his journey, he finds himself softening toward her. Somehow she begins to lift the darkness in his heart. Yet even as the undeniable attraction between them sizzles and burns, he is painfully aware that she loves another. Can Thom be enough for her to forget the other man? Or will she leave him once they reach Bracken Ridge?

Highland Messenger (Scottish Strife Series Book 4) by Dana D’Angelo is a captivating Medieval Scottish Romance. While, Book 4 in her amazing “Scottish Strife” series, it can be read as a stand alone, with no issues.
Mairead MacGregon and Thom MacCullvin are such compelling characters. Thom presents a hard exterior, but he is gentle, caring and a fierce warrior, who is also a messenger for the Scottish Crown. Mairead, is feisty, determined and beautiful, she is one of Rory MacCullvin’s sister, from a previous book. Of course, sparks fly, in more ways than one, Thom and Mairead same to always be bucking horns.

Follow, Mairead and Thom on their trek through the Highlands to Bracken Ridge, while they face danger, and their undeniable attraction to each other. But will Mairead find that her savior, may not be, her childhood crush, Blane, but maybe this tough, rugged Highlander, before it’s too late?
Well written, fast paced, heart-pounding story of secrets, treachery, passion, misunderstandings, and the quest to finding a HEA and seek revenge, for a wrong preceived to a loved one. But things are not as they seem.
The characters are engaging, but roughly flawed, with caring, gentle hearts. I hope some of the secondary characters find their own stories. What a great cast of characters!
Once again, Ms. D’Angelo held me captivated to the pages of this mesmerizing Medieval Scottish Romance. She never disappoints me, but holds me in anticipation to the next adventure. One of my favorite Scottish Romance authors!
I absolutely loved “Highland Messenger”, from the first page to the last, it was utterly intriguing. WOW, another hit by Dana D’Angelo!
Fans of Medevial Scottish Romance, fierce, and loyal Highlanders, secrets, treachery and possibly treason, are sure to enjoy “Highland Messenger”, I certainly did. Highly recommended!

A lady in need of protection…

Suffering through a short marriage to an enemy of Scotland, Lady Emilia MacCulloch manages to escape just before her husband dies. But the Ross Clan will stop at nothing to get her back, for she plays a big part in their plans to thwart Robert the Bruce. She fears not only for her life, but for her family who will be labeled traitors. Placed by her king as a governess in the household of a devastatingly handsome warrior, Emilia finds herself drawn to the man when she had previously sworn off love altogether. His passion, charisma, loyalty, and strength shake the very foundation she’s built around her heart.

A warrior in need of saving…

Ian Matheson has spent his entire life trying to prove himself. To belong. When his father passes away and his mother takes her vows at a nearby abbey, he is suddenly left in a position he was wholly unprepared for. And then his father’s dozen illegitimate children arrive on his doorstep in need of a father figure of their own. They are adorable and reckless, and he’s certain they’ll drive him mad. Just when he thinks he might actually need to find a wife to help him, Lady Emilia is presented to him by the king. She needs his protection and he needs her help with the bairns. Ian is tempted by her angelic face, her fiery tongue, and the secrets that surround her. He must resist the growing desire that’s laying claim within him. He must prove to his clan that he is a worthy leader. But maybe, just maybe, he can have the respect of his people and Emilia, too.

My Thoughts

Guarded by the Warrior (Conquered Bride Series Book 5) by Eliza Knight was a fantastic Medieval Scottish Romance. While, Book 5, it can be read as a stand alone, with no issues.
This story draw me in, within the first chapter and held my attention throughout, to the very end.
Ian and Emilia were such great characters! Ian was sexy, protective and fiercely loyal. He also felt unworthy of his position as new Laird, after his father’s death.
Emilia was feisty, felt betrayed by her family and determined to survive.

Secrets abound, sparks ignite, dangers lurks, battles are fought, but will love prevail? Ms. Knight definitely shows the reader, throughout her story how circumstances change and how preverance can prevail. Well done!

Well written with engaging and well developed characters. The storyline is a bit unique, in this complex, but captivating tale of two people learning to trust, forgive, heal and find a HEA.

What an entertaining tale with a few surprises and several twists and turns along the way! A great Scottish Romance! Oh, yes, the reader will get a glimpse into Robert the Bruce and his quest to claim Scotland. And a glimpse into Ian and his quest to protect and care for his father’s legitimate children. At least twelve of them, I adored little Alice! Ms. Knight weaves a story for the ages in “Guarded by the Warrior”. She never fails to delight nor disappoints me, with her tales of love and overcoming circumstances. Highly recommended!

She has sworn she will never fall in love.

Maggie Murray fled her home to avoid a political marriage to an abusive man. Salvation comes when the Cameron laird, unaware of her identity, protects her as she escapes. His kindness slowly warms her, and she’s tempted to confess her real name. But his strong sense of honor would force him to return her to her father…and torment at the hands of her scorned betrothed.

My Thoughts:

Highland Deception (Highland Pride, Book 1) by Lori Ann Bailey. WOW! What a captivating and seductive Scottish Romance set in 1642 Scotland. Hard to believe Ms. Bailey is a debut author!

Thqis is the story of Lachlan Cameron, Laird of Cameron and Maggie Murray, betrothed to a brutal, abusive man. The only thing left for her, is to run for her life and enter a convent for protection. But, she runs right into the path of Lachlan and his men. Swore to protect her, but afraid of her deception, for he knows she is not telling him everything. Is she a spy for his enemies?
Battling a fierce attraction, suspicion at every turn, and political and religious intrigue, as well, as turmoil that could threaten to tear two clans apart. Can Lachlan and Maggie find love amist intrigue and doubt? Steeped in deceit, treachery, betrayal, treason, and the brutal reality of warfare and a dangerous deception. Will Lachlan and Maggie learn to trust, heal, and find their HEA? Or lose everything to betrayal, and deceit?

Well written with well-developed, captivating and seductive characters. The storyline is unique, intriguing, powerful and compelling. An emotionally charged Scottish Romance that will pull any Scottish lover into the story and hold them in rapture.
Highly recommended! Fans of Scottish Romance, Highlanders, intrigue, treachery, treason and so much more, really should pick up “Highland Deception” for their reading pleasure. Impressive and treacherous! I look forward to the next installment.
