How fortunate we are that Caroline decided to retrieve The Dance of the Caterpillars from its 1980’s hiding place in the filing cabinet. How grateful we are that Fisher called to her. How thankful we are that we are able to receive the message of hope across the decades from this very special fourth-grader in our world of increasing disconnectedness from ourselves and each other and from our rightful place in the natural world. Fisher reminds us there is some Fisher in all of us: a longing to belong. The Dance takes me to the space between The Wizard of Oz and Where the Wild Things Are, a step closer to the journey home, the journey to the undivided life. Fisher makes me think of a slightly older version of Max from Wild Things, growing up in a deforming world, yet still able to hold onto to that birthright ability to see, to hear, to connect. Fisher reminds me that I still have that birthright, too, and it’s not too late for me to notice and nurture the magic and the mystery, inside and out. Fisher’s voice reads like poetry, and I find myself letting go of learned restraints as I get caught up in The Dance. Caroline writes of The Dance that it is her sweetest of her books… This one will be cherished by readers of all ages.

MY THOUGHTS:

THE DANCE OF THE CATERPILLARS- IN THE TIME BEFORE TEXTING by Caroline S. Fairless is an interesting Children’s Book/Family/Religious Fiction/Science/Eco-System. A cherish tale for all ages. Fisher will steal your heart. A longing to belong, Fisher, a fourth grader,  reminds us all, that there was a time of magic, before testing, imagination, and a time long before testing where people talked face to face with each other. A magical and interesting read, where nature pulls, Fisher, outside. Caterpillars turns into something beautiful. Fisher, reminds us, we are looking to belong in a world of disconnections and modern technology. Eco-friendly, and filled with nature, you will enjoy your walk through Fisher’s imagination.

The author retrieved this story from her basement and decided to finally published Fisher’s tale of the “Dance of the Caterpillars”.

Well written with wonderful illustrations. Fisher, is likeable, and filled with imagination. I enjoyed this tale!

MY THOUGHTS:

LADY ADEL’S CAPTAIN by Loretta C. Rogers is an exciting Historical Romance. A delicious romp though England and Scotland with a Lady, a three-year old child, and two servants to an unknown destiny.

A heart felt tale of love at first sight, a soldier’s return,  building a new life after tragic events and building a loving home with a loving family, who are not all blood kin. A sweet romance, with honorable and delightful characters. But, it does have some language some readers may find offensive, while describing certain body parts.

Fast paced and filled with passion,a bit of mystery, a soldier’s sacrifice, and lots of love. I enjoyed “Lady Adel’s Captain” from beginning to end. I actually, could not put it down once, I started reading. It was, that good. Well done! I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys an awesome read, that the characters are realistic, with realistic issues, and the storyline was very engaging. The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After

Once upon a time, a historical romance author created a family…

But not just any family. Eight brothers and sisters, assorted in-laws, sons and daughters, nieces and nephews, (not to mention an overweight corgi), plus an irrepressible matriarch who’s a match for any of them… These are the Bridgertons: less a family than a force of nature. Through eight bestselling novels, readers laughed, cried, and fell in love. But they wanted more.

And so the readers asked the author…

What happened next? Does Simon ever read his father’s letters? Do Francesca and Michael become parents? Who would win in a Pall Mall grudge match?

Does “The End” really have to be the end?

Now, with The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After, Julia Quinn delivers eight sexy, funny, and heartwarming “2nd epilogues,” plus a bonus story about none other than the wise and witty Violet Bridgerton herself. So get to know the Bridgertons all over again—because Happily Ever After is a whole lot of fun.

MY THOUGHTS:

THE BRIDGERTONS: HAPPILY EVER AFTER by Julia Quinn is an interesting Regency Historical Romance. If you have ever read any of Julia Quinn stories of the Bridgerton and wondered what happened next, than this is the book for you to read. It has several 2nd epilogues. The Bridgerton family  has eight brothers and sisters,in-laws,sons and daughters, nieces and nephews plus so much more. With a matriarch who was feisty, and a force to live with. Be warned: if you have not heard any of the Bridgerton Series, this book may contain some spoilers for those stories. It also “contains previously published material.” With this said I enjoyed this title. It is written with Julia Quinn’s usual vivid descriptions, engaging characters and interesting plot. It’s all fun and games until someone falls in love…

There’s one hitch—he doesn’t exist. Louisa needs a fake husband, and fast, to make the proper impression.

Charles Cooper, captain of the Boer War and far from silver spoons or gilded cages, is so hard up that even this crazy scheme appeals to him. It’s only thirty days, not till death do them part. What’s so difficult about impersonating a husband, even if he doesn’t know a Rembrandt from a Rousseau?

The true difficulty is keeping his hands off Louisa once there’s nobody around to see their ruse. And then there’s the small problem of someone at Rosemont trying to kill him. Keeping his wits about him and protecting Louisa brings out the honor he thought he’d left on the battlefield. But when Louisa tries to protect him, Charles knows he’s found a way to face his future—in the arms of his heiress.

In the isolated Cape Cod village of Prospect, the Gilly sisters are as different as can be. Jo, a fierce and quiet loner, is devoted to the mysteries of her family’s salt farm, while Claire is popular, pretty, and yearns to flee the salt at any cost. But the Gilly land hides a dark legacy that proves impossible to escape. Although the community half-suspects the Gilly sisters might be witches, it doesn’t stop Whit Turner, the town’s wealthiest bachelor, from forcing his way into their lives.
