July 1, 2014
Naomi King, soft spoken, loyal, and easily overlooked, has a gift. She sees what others can’t see. Intuition, she calls it. Others in Stoney Ridge don’t know what to make of it and dismiss her hunches and inklings altogether.

When a young woman arrives at the Inn at Eagle Hill with a shocking secret about Tobe Schrock, Naomi fears the worst. She can’t ignore the feeling that something sinister is at work– something more than a threat to the tenuous love begun between her and Tobe.

As signs mount, they begin to point to Jake Hertzler, the elusive mastermind behind Schrock Investments’ downfall. Soon, events spiral hopelessly out of control and Naomi must decide whether to listen to her head or her heart.

In this riveting conclusion to The Inn at Eagle Hill series, bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher pulls out all the stops with a fast-paced tale of deception, revelation, and just the right dose of romance.

MY THOUGHTS:
THE REVEALING by Suzanne Woods  Fisher is an interesting Christian Amish Contemporary Fiction set in Stoney Ridge. #3 and the final in the “Inn at Eagle Hill” series, but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would suggest reading the other two in the series. See, “The Letters”, “The Calling” and the novella “The Rescue”.
In “The Revealing” you find answers to some of the questions from the previous titles. This is Naomi King, who has the “gift”, she sees things others can not, which she calls it intuition, Jake Hertzler, and Tobe Schrock. Filled with secrets, reveals many secrets, drama, faith, has a bit of mystery, suspense and finding love.
There are many twists along the way with sub-plots and connected stories intertwined. Will the people of Eagle Hill find happiness, peace and love? You will find many surprises in “The Revealing”. I have enjoyed getting to know the people of Eagle Hill and kinda hate to see them leave us. But all good things must come to an end.
Ms. Woods Fisher, is a constant storyteller, she shows readers how the Amish deal with life, trials and troubles we all have in common. A simple life is not always a life that is simple, but is plighted with problems, and issues too. “The Revealing” is a satisfying read.

MY THOUGHTS:

SUSANNA’S DREAM by Marta Perry is a delightful Inspirational Fiction set in Pleasant Valley, PA. #2 in “The Lost Sisters of Pleasant Vally”, but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would recommend reading Book 1 also. See, “Lydia’s Hope”.

“As Young girls, three Amish sisters were separated and told nothing about one another. When the long-held secret of their parentage came to light many years later. Two of the grown women reconnected. Now they reach out to the third.”

This is Susanna Bitler’s story. Her life is in turmoil, a long held family secret is about to be revealed that could destroy her, two sisters-she didn’t know she had, is about to reveal themselves, the woman she thought and mourns for, she is soon to learn, is not her biological Mother. A heart wrenching tale, that will stay with you long after the last page, but a very compelling and loving tale of the bond between sisters. An Amish lovers dream. A very enjoyable read. I would recommend to Amish lovers, and anyone who enjoys a sweet, tale that could either destroy one sister, or bring them all together. First, Susanna must face her own fears. Loved it! Well done!! Received for an honest review.

Change is brewing for Lily Lapp. Her favorite cousin, Hannah, moves away and Harvey Hershberger, a boy with a talent for trouble, moves right in. Harvey’s antics stir up the entire schoolhouse, and his fondness for Lily gets under Aaron Yoder’s skin. Add in a mischievous dog rescued by Lily’s brother, an old Shawnee Indian and a mother bear, and a secret Lily’s mother is keeping, and you’ve got a recipe for laughter, love, and big surprises.

Girls ages 8 to 12 will love navigating the changes in Lily’s world with her in this final book in the sweetly simple Adventures of Lily Lapp series.

MY THOUGHTS:
A SURPRISE FOR LILY by Mary Ann Kinsinger and Suzanne Woods Fisher is an interesting Young Readers (Amish) ages 8-12 years of age. Set in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. #4 in “The Adventures of Lily Lapp”, but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would suggest reading the other three in the series. See,”Life with Lily”,”A New Home for Lily”, and “A Big Year for Lily”. A simple look at the Amish life through the eyes of eleven-year old Lily Lapp and her friends. Lily’s surprise is very heartwarming. This has been an exciting adventure for not just the characters but for readers also. The team of Mary Ann Kinsinger and Suzanne Woods Fisher is superb! They are both talented! The characters are enduring and their storyline intriguing. Rather you are young or old you will not be disappointed in the “Adventures of Lily Lapp”. This series reminds me a little of “Little House on the Prairie” with Lily as Laura Ingalls, and the mischief maker Effie, as Nellie Olsen.
“A Surprise for Lily” is the final installment in “The Adventures of Lily Lapp” and I kinda hate to see it end. If you only encourage your Young Reader to read a series this summer let it be “The Adventures of Lily Lapp” you will not regret your choice of reading material. MY THOUGHTS:

PLAIN FEAR: FORGIVEN by Leanna Ellis is an exciting finale to the Inspirational Amish Paranormal Romance. Book 3 in the “Plain Fear” series, but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would recommend reading all three “Plain Fear” titles. Seem”Plain Fear: Forsaken”,and “Plain Fear: Forbidden”. First let me say what an amazing series this has been. Filled with sacrifice, guilt, deception, redemption, faith, and love. Samuel Fisher killed his brother,Jacob, in a previous story. Now he is trying to deal with his guilt, and the sin he committed, he is also being stalked by a vampire, who wants nothing more than to capture his very soul. While, “Plain Fear: Forgiven” is a kinda coming of age story it is so much more, for you have the balance of sin and salvation, love and fear, temptation and redemption, faith against evil, sacrifice and the power of love. What a powerful story and a finale to die for literally. Well written with just the right amount of romance, faith and love. If you enjoy Vampires,Amish faith, community, and romance than “Plain Fear: Forgiven” is the story for you to read. A captivating story from beginning to the last page! Very intense with compelling, engaging, charismatic characters. A very different storyline than just a vampire story, good vs evil,it is a story of loss, deception and finding deliverance. A must read! Ms. Ellis also paints a vivid and realistic look at the Amish faith, their life, and their community. Received for an honest review from the publisher.

The tornado that devastated Kings’ Orchard pushed Rhoda, Samuel, and Jacob to make a new start in Maine. Are they strong enough to withstand the challenges of establishing an Amish community—and brave enough to face the secrets that move with them?

On the eve of their departure to begin a new Old Order Amish community outside of Unity, Maine, Rhoda Byler is shocked to discover that choices made by her business partner and friend, Samuel King, have placed her and her unusual gifts directly into the path of her district’s bishop and preachers. She is furious with Samuel and is fearful that the Kings will be influenced by the way her leaders see her, and not what they know to be true—that Rhoda’s intuition is a gift from God.

Jacob King won’t be swayed by community speculation. He loves Rhoda, believes in her, and wants to build a future with her in Maine. But when the ghosts of his past come calling and require him to fulfill a great debt, can he shake their hold before it destroys what he has with Rhoda? Samuel has a secret of his own—one he’ll go to great lengths to keep hidden, even if it means alienating those closest to him. Throwing himself into rehabilitating the once-abandoned orchard, Samuel turns to a surprising new ally.

Book 2 of the Amish Vines and Orchards series asks: can the three faithfully follow God’s leading and build a new home and orchard in Maine? Or will this new beginning lead to more ruin and heartbreak?

MY THOUGHTS:

THE WINNOWING SEASON by Cindy Woodsmall is an interesting Contemporary Amish Fiction set in Maine. #2 in “The Winnowing Season”, while you can read this as a stand alone, I would recommend reading book 1 first, “A Season for Tending” to acquaint yourself with the characters. Join Jacob King, Samuel King, and Rhoda Byler on a journey of faith, secrets, heartbreak, healing, forgiveness,an usual gift and a love triangle. A cast of complex characters with compelling and complex problems. You do not want to miss this epic tale of disaster, alienation, the Amish community and wine orchards. Fast paced, with a compelling plot that is intriguing and as well as heartfelt. Another Amish great read for this author. Received for an honest review from the publisher,Waterbrook Press

Lily Lapp’s family has settled into their new home in Pennsylvania, but life still holds big changes and big steps for Lily.
