November 29, 2013 NY Times and USA Today bestselling author E.G. Foley presents The Gryphon Chronicles, a new series of historical fantasy adventure novels that’s as much fun for grownups as it is for kids!

Big Trouble…

Reunited with his aristocratic magical relatives, and finally getting used to his own supernatural powers, orphaned ex-pickpocket Jake Everton, the young Lord Griffon, travels on his first-ever holiday to beautiful Norway. There, at an amazing (steampunk!) Invention Convention, his cousin Archie, the boy genius, plans to unveil his marvelous new flying machine to the scientific world.

But legends of the Viking Age die hard in Scandinavia. Danger strikes as famous Victorian scientists start mysteriously disappearing. When Archie vanishes, too, Jake races to the rescue. With the help of his trusty pet Gryphon, he tracks the kidnapper to his lair—only to come face-to-face with an angry Norse giant!

From the whimsical steampunk oddities of the Invention Convention to wondrous worlds of Norse mythology, join Jake and his friends on a giant-sized adventure full of hair-raising dangers and big laughs!

MY THOUGHTS:

THE GRYPHON CHRONICLES: JAKE AND THE GIANT by E. G. Foley is a delightful Fantasy/Fiction/Adventure for Young Readers ages, 10 and Up. Set again in the Victorian Era. #2 in “The Gryphon Chronicles” but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would recommend reading book 1, “The Lost Heir”. The adventure continues in “Jake and The Giant”. Jake Everton, now Lord Griffon, has finally be re-united with his parents, and is coming to grips with his magical powers. When Jake’s cousin Archie, goes missing, along with other scientists, Jake races to the rescue. He comes face-to-face with a Norse giant. Filled with Norse mythology, magical creatures, a flying machine, legends, and of course a bit of danger and lots of adventure. Harry Potter has nothing on Jake and his friends. A wonderful Historical fantasy for young and old readers alike. Another hit for this amazing author. Well done. What an engaging story from beginning to end with a feel of Steampunk, historical,Fantasy and Adventure all mixed into one grand adventure. BIG TROUBLE comes to Jake and his friends in “Jake and the Giant”. Another must read! Received for an honest review from the author.

Chief Torrin MacLeod vows to possess and wed the spirited lady who stole his heart the previous winter. But Lady Jessie MacKay wants naught to do with the dangerous warrior, no matter how devilishly handsome and charming he is. When Torrin arrives unexpectedly at Jessie’s home, along with Gregor MacBain, a man Jessie was formerly handfasted to, she is thrown off-kilter. She never wanted to see either man again, but now they are vying for her hand. Torrin promises to protect her from the devious MacBain, but how can she trust Torrin when she has witnessed how lethal he is?

The more time Torrin spends with the strong and independent Jessie, the more determined he is to win her heart. Once she allows him a kiss, he feels her passion flame as hot as his own. After she knows Torrin better, Jessie finds herself falling for the fearsome Highlander. But the odds are stacked against them. The sinister MacBain is bent on kidnapping Jessie, making her his bride and killing Torrin, while Jessie’s conniving younger brother, Haldane, is determined to use Jessie to take over the castle in his older brother’s absence. Jessie fears she can never be with the man she loves, while Torrin will do everything in his power to ensure they are together forever. In his heart, she is the only lady for him.

The Highland Adventure Series
My Fierce Highlander
My Wild Highlander
My Brave Highlander
My Daring Highlander
My Notorious Highlander

MY THOUGHTS:
MY NOTORIOUS HIGHLANDER by Vonda Sinclair is an intriguing and exciting  Scottish Historical Romance set in 1619 Scotland. #5 in the “Highland Adventure” series, but can be read as a stand alone. See,” My Fierce Highlander”, “My Wild Highlander”, “My Brave Highlander” and “My Daring Highlander”. I absolutely loved this story! Follow Chief Torrin MacLeod,Lady Jessie MacKay and Gregor MacBain on a journey of danger, passion, secrets, deception, betrayal and love. Torrin vows to make Jessie is wife, but Gregor has other plans. Gregor, was hand-fasted to Jessie formerly, but throw her aside for another, now he wants and needs her back under his thumb. He is also a cruel man.  But Torrin has other plans, for he has loved her from afar.
Oh, did I mention Jessie’s younger brother, Haldane, who just happens to be an outlaw, a murderer and wants to use Jessie to take over the castle from his older brother? If you enjoy fast paced, action packed Highland adventure than “My Notorious Highlander” is definitely the read for you. The characters are engaging, charismatic, and fierce. The storyline is intriguing, dangerous and will have you turning pages faster than you can say Highlander. Oh, for a moment or two I was spellbound, as Torrin has to save Jessie over and over. How many will die in the process of Haldane and Gregor’s revenge and hatred? Hatred can turn the most beloved family member into a horrid brother, who is only after his own gain.  A deliciously sexy story of love, family, revenge, and forgiveness. For action, thrills, and passion pick up “My Notorious Highlander”.  I loved it! Well done, indeed! I love Highlanders  and their lasses and this was no disappointment. A not to miss story! Sometimes the recipe for true love can turn out to be the perfect poison.

Jack Marconi is back. In The Guilty, Jack finds himself investigating a local restaurateur who’s not only obsessed with the sexy, dark romance novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, he’s accused of attempting to murder his school teacher girlfriend. As the now brain-damaged young woman begins recalling events of that fateful winter night when she was allegedly pushed down the stairs of a West Albany mansion, she becomes the target of the angry foodie/sex-obsessed boyfriend once again. Only this time, he’s cooking up a plot to keep her silenced forever.

MY THOUGHTS:

THE GUILTY by Vincent Zandri is an interesting Crime Thriller. #3 in the “P.I. Jack Marconi Thriller”,but I feel can be read as a stand alone. This is my first by this author. What a great Crime/Thriller story filled with substance, action, compassion, passion, depth, and murder with some wickedness though into the mix. A truly haunting, and chilling story. Apparently Jack Marconi is back from the two previous stories by this author,he has a sidekick named, yes, this freaked me out a little, Blood. What should that tell you? Two not so likely chums! Fast paced and action filled from beginning to end. A true page turner with come truly evil characters and some truly good characters too. Be warned does contain some rather foul language, otherwise a really good story. Oh did I mention a murder or two, some obsession, and some passion! If you enjoy crime/thrillers,mystery, and suspense than “The Guilty” is a story for you to read. Lots of twists and turns involved in getting to the bottom of this story. An enjoyable read!
