Product Description

Her daughter’s kidnapping. A metro bombing. Going undercover. Zoey Morningstar’s trip to Paris wasn’t to include any of these things. But it does. Although Jean-Luc LeFèvre rescues her little girl from the Red Hand, the threat to her child continues. Zoey is grateful to Jean-Luc, but her need to help capture the abductors must override any desire she feels for the handsome agent with his own brand of justice…and danger. Jean-Luc is not pleased when Zoey, a crime scene photographer with just enough training to get them killed, is assigned to work with him in the French Counterterrorism Unit. Not only does she take too many risks, she drives him to distraction. As Zoey and Jean-Luc track the terrorists, their feelings for each other grow as fast as the danger. Jean-Luc is determined to protect Zoey and her daughter, but the sinister grasp of the Red Hand is strong and far-reaching. It will take more than love to keep them all safe.

My thoughts:

Jean-Luc: Once is Never Enough by Vonnie Davis is an intriguing story. #2 in “Paris Intrigue”, while I feel some readers may wish to read #1 “Niko:Licensed to Kill”, before reading this, it’s not necessary to fully enjoy “Jean-Luc”. What a Romantic Suspense!

Zoey Morningstar, her child Taylor Ann, Jean-Luc LeFèvre, the Red Hand Terrorist group and the French Counterterrorism Unit, makes for some exciting and thrilling reading. Zoey and Jean-Luc’s chemistry is explosive and steamy.

Well written with well developed, realistic and engaging characters and a plot to literally die for, Vonnie Davis will certainly capture your heart in “Jean-Luc”. Definitely a heart thumping, action packed tale, set in Paris. With intrigue, danger, murder, terrorist, a kidnapping, suspense, passion and a race for time, readers will be awe stricken, as Ms. Davis writes a story that plays out like, a movie. I was glued to the pages from the beginning to end. This is one of those stories that lingers in one’s mind, long after the ending.
An unbelievable realistic story, that felt as if it was pulled straight out of todays headlines!

I love Vonnie Davis’ complex, compelling, intriguing and powerful stories. She is an expert with characterization, descriptions and her plots are simply mesmerizing.
You don’t wish to miss this action packed Romantic Suspense! I can’t wait to read the next book in the “Paris Intrigue”. An amazing story! The battle of the sexes helped carry “Jean-Luc” along. Well done,Vonnie Davis!!

My thoughts:

ROAMING WILD by Tracey Devlyn is an amazing Romantic Suspense. “Steele Ridge” Book 6 , but can be read as a stand alone. If you enjoy family saga, then I’d suggest reading the other 5 books in the series. However, not necessary to enjoy this story.

The hero was a ruggedly sexy, strong and a protective, alpha male. The heroine was feisty, brave and brazen, a true heroine. I loved Evie and Deke, their story was intriguing in itself, but when added in the suspense, and mystery, WOW!

The conflict was enough to keep me turning pages. I was emotionally invested from the first page to the last. The plot flowed seamlessly and continuingly. Fast paced and action packed with conflict, danger around every corner and the wildlife aspect was a plus for me. I enjoyed the fact Evie had issues, with panic attacks, as one who suffers from them occasionally, the author nailed it!

An intriguing story with all the drama, emotions, conflict, suspense, mystery and romance a great Romantic Suspense should have to impress readers and keep them returning to Steele Ridge. Simply flawless, in my humble opinion!

A must read for Romantic Suspense lovers, and fans of the “Steele Ridge” saga. Tracey Devlin is one of my favorite Romantic Suspense authors. She writes such thrilling, page turning stories, with emotional turmoil, as well as family oriented stories. The twists and turns were surprising, intriguing, and impressive. Another hit for Tracey Devlin!! Can’t wait to visit “Steele Ridge” again, and learn what is in store for readers and the Steele family. I adore the Steele family!

Reunited with the P.I. by Anna J. Stewart…..a review

Reunited with the P.I. (Honor Bound #2)Reunited with the P.I. by Anna J. Stewart

publication: May 9th 2017 by Harlequin Romantic Suspense
ISBN: 0373402120 (ISBN13: 9780373402120)

Summary from Goodreads:

In this Honor Bound romance, a perilous change of heart looms for two former lovers…

Exactly why should P.I. Vince Sutton take his ex-wife’s case? Because she, assistant district attorney Simone Armstrong, put his brother in jail? Because the ambitious spitfire still drives him crazy? No, he’ll take it because -The Avenging Angel- makes him a deal he can’t refuse. Sparks fly when Vince works all-too-closely with Simone to locate her missing key witness…but in the process, they are drawn into a cold case. As much as he tries, Vince can’t deny that he’s never gotten over beautiful Simone, but can he admit his feelings to her–and himself? And can he save her from the danger that’s heading their way?

My Thoughts

Wow. That’s my first thought after reading REUNITED WITH THE P.I. This is part of the Honor Bound series and follows MORE THAN A LAWMAN. However you do not have to read MORE THAN A LAWMAN to follow Reunited with the P.I. I will say that I think there are things within this story that will draw you to read the first book and to continue reading this series, there’s more going on than just a romance! Fans of Harlequin’s Romantic Suspense line know these are great suspenseful books, but REUNITED WITH THE P.I. also has a lot of emotional pull. The characters are well written and realistic. The story pulls you in from page one and doesn’t let go, even after the last page is turned. I’ve been thinking about this story for days. I want more honestly. I want to see these characters again. I can’t wait for Simone’s friend Allie to get her own story. And now I want to read MORE THAN A LAWMAN. There is a mystery written within REUNITED WITH THE P.I. that will leave you on the edge of your seat. This series, Honor Bound, does have a connected story-line that unites the characters and stories. One that will have you eager to read all the stories and ready for the next story to arrive. Highly recommend Anna J. Stewart’s REUNITED WITH THE P.I. to anyone seeking a great romance with a suspenseful story and characters that leave you feeling as if you know them. This was one of those perfect reads that had it all and left you wanting more. Now if only Ms. Stewart would write faster so I can get my hands on the next story I’d be good. A perfect Keeper Shelf story!

MY THOUGHTS

Stealing the Rogue’s Heart (The Rookery Rogues #4) by Erica Monroe is one of those WOW, Pre-Victorian Historical Romance, set against the backdrop of London’s working class. While, Book 4 of 4 in the famous “The Rookery Rogues” series, it can be read as a stand alone, with re-appearances from characters in the previous books.

This story captured my heart, in the first chapter and I held on tight throughout, as I read Mina and Charlie’s story. Mina Mason, has led a sheltered life as the youngest sister to the notorious street gang crime Lord, the Kings but she has been friends with Charlie Thatcher for years. Charlie is a member of the Mason family’s street gang rival, the Chapman Street Thieves. They saved Charlie from certain death on the streets of the Radcliffe Rookery. Still, Charlie captured her heart, he’s the only person in her life who doesn’t make her feel like she’s in a gilded cage.

Charlie works as a bartender, at the Three Boars Public house, which is in Chapman terriory, there he protects Mina and she has always known he would keep her safe. Then one night Mina gets herself in trouble and Charlie, keeping her safe, fights a member of his gang, to protect her and her honor, which, causes Charlie much trouble.
Can a childhood friendship actual cause a gang war? Will Mina and Charlie find the help they desperately need before it’s too late from her two brothers? Or will all be lost, including their lives, to jealousy and hate? You will found the answers within “Stealing the Rogue’s Heart” both surprising and redemptive.

What a dark, sexy, romantic suspense with plenty of secrets, twists and turns plus gritty, edgy, romance!! What a heart pounding but heart warming story!! I have loved this series from the start, however, I believe Mina and Charlie’s story is my favorite, thus far. A not to miss Pre-Victorian Romance! Hold on to your seats, dear readers, as you’re sweep away in “Stealing the Rogue’s Heart”! Well done, Ms. Monroe! I can’t wait to read Cyrus and Jane’s story!

Book Description (from Amazon.ca)

Jillian Rogers Greene worked hard to close the doors on the psychic abilities that defined her youth. For years she pretended to be normal, ignoring the ghosts who whisper to her. When a car crash sets her on a collision course with the past, ugly secrets about her family and marriage come to light. She’s forced to reevaluate what she thought she knew…and exactly what the future holds.

Connor Sanderson might be the key to unlocking that future. The grey-eyed artist knows ghosts aren’t real, but his attraction to the beautiful psychic makes him question those beliefs. With her husband plotting to kill her, can Jillian make Connor see the truth before it’s too late?

 My Thoughts

GHOSTS DON’T LIE is exactly what the title states. Jill is your “ghost whisperer” who denies her gift as a teenager in order to be accepted. She becomes the cheerleader and dates the football player. Unfortunately her life takes a turn when her husband is accused of some pretty awful things. Of course Jill believes him and picks up the family moving from the only place she new.

Jill’s marriage since the birth of her kids is not doing well but things are looking up when she returns home to visit her sick Aunt. It is there that her “gift” returns and her grandmother comes to speak with her. Jill’s life is about to change and she is about to find out the truth of what happened so many years ago. Will Jill live long enough to find out?

GHOSTS DON’T LIE is a very well written novel. I didn’t anticipate the story being about “ghost whispering” but it was a nice surprise. It is one of those stories that once you start you can never put it down. There is plenty of twists and turns that keep you on the edge along with some things that you ever see coming. I must admit, there were times that I was angry and wish I could smack Jill’s husband. This is a perfect example of well developed characters and a great plot. Definitely worth the read. Not one to pass up.

Master storyteller Irene Hannon is back with an exciting new series featuring former special forces operatives now in the thick of the action in civilian life. Hannon is at the top of her game in this can’t-put-it-down thriller that will have readers up until the wee hours devouring every page.

MY THOUGHTS:

#1 in the new series “Men of Valor” and what a beginning! Once again, Ms. Hannon draws the reader into a fast paced, action packed Inspirational Romantic Suspense. From the first page to the last page.

Alex’s knowledge of art is undeniable—just as Henry’s attraction to her is irresistible. But in order to help him recover the real painting, Alex isn’t just risking exposure…she’s risking her life.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this book!  I found myself reading it whenever I had a free moment.  The story was filled with unique situations, interesting characters, suspense and a tender love story. Key plot points were very well developed and rolled out at just the right pace to keep the tension high without moving too slowly and boring the reader.  Alex is damaged but no typical victim.  She hasn’t lost her tough edge and her intellect keeps her a step ahead of her ex.  She’s got a talent like few others and is completely confident in her abilities which I found highly appealing.  Henry appears every bit the English gentleman to the extent that it never occurs to Alex that his Navy time was anything other than mundane.  Villains don’t come much more despicable than Luc and his thugs. Nicola and Simon are also very interesting and their subplot is well woven into the main story.  All the pieces of this story weave together in a very believable way. I highly recommend this book to lovers of any genre.

MY THOUGHTS:

GIDEON by Cherry Adair is a fast paced, action packed Romantic Suspense. #2 in the “Lodestone” series, but can be read as a stand alone. I would suggest reading #1 “Hush”, just because this is an outstanding series, thus far. Another, T-FLAC novel. Thrills and chills, twists and turns, as well, passion, suspense, and romance. A roller- coaster of a thrill ride from beginning to the end and beyond.

Well written with tantalizing scenes, vivid descriptions, charismatic characters, adventure, action, and of course a track through the Jungle with an enemy on their trail (the reader can almost taste, feel and smell the Jungle). The H/H is awesome, oh wait, they are engaging, charismatic, energetic and did I mention passionate, in more ways than just sex. Although, the sensual tension is just as awesome, as well. A keeper! Another hit from another awesome Romantic Suspense author! Well done! I look forward to the next installment of this high-octane adventure. The  T-FLAC team is a tough as nails unit. Another hit from Cherry Adair. Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense fans and anyone who enjoys a thrill-ride packed full of action, romance and love. Any more heat and action and the pages would be on fire. Simply, breathless and priceless!! If you only pick up one Romantic Suspense, this month, let it be “Gideon”, you will not regret your choice!

Description (from Amazon.com)

The most hated woman in Savannah, Georgia, is about to be set free. Twenty years ago, Blondell O Henry was convicted of murdering her eldest daughter and wounding her two other children. The prosecution argued that beautiful, selfish Blondell wanted to be rid of them to be with her lover. Now Blondell s son, Niall, has recanted his testimony and demolished the case in the process. Reporter Nikki Gillette is determined to get the true story, and not just for professional reasons. Blondell s murdered daughter, Amity, was Nikki s childhood friend. The night she died, Amity begged Nikki to meet with her, insisting she had a secret to tell, but Nikki didn t go. Her guilt is compounded by other complications Nikki s favorite uncle, Alexander, was the attorney who helped save Blondell from execution. And rumors swirl that he was one of her many lovers. Nikki s fiancé, Detective Pierce Reed, is concerned she may be compromising the case. As she digs for answers during one of the most sweltering summers in Savannah s history, he also worries for her safety. Everyone involved seems to have secrets, from Blondell s old boyfriend and his fundamentalist, snake- handling in-laws to the cop who led the original investigation. And somehow, the events of that tragic night connect to Nikki s own fractured family. But now the killing has begun again. Is Amity s murderer still at large, or is this a new, darker danger? Soon Nikki will discover what really happened twenty years ago, but the answers may come too late to save her life…

My Thoughts

First off, I have to say that Lisa Jackson is one of my favorite authors. Although her novels are “romantic suspense” there is always more suspense. In this novel, which is the third in the Savannah Series Blondell is set to be released after 20 years in prison for killing her children. Her son, whose testimony put in jail, is now all of a sudden recanting his testimony. You can imagine the up roar this has caused the town.

Nikki, who is close to the case, is determined to find out the truth but doesn’t realize she is putting her life in danger. As the story unfolds, there are plenty of plot twists and turns to keep you guessing. All the evidence is pointing at Blondell but how could someone kill or attempt to kill her own children.

This was probably the first book of Ms. Jackson’s that took me a while to read. I found myself having to put it down and go back to it. Once I got through the first 100 – 150 pages it starts to pick up and I, at that point, couldn’t put it down. I honestly couldn’t figure out “who done it” until the very end. It is so well written that you do not see it coming. The characters were well-developed and you were able to relate at least with Nikki. Sometimes the switch between scenes was a bit confusing especially since I did leave off and then start again a few days later. Overall, I have to say it was a great read for me since I couldn’t figure it out.
