BOOK DESCRIPTION (FROM AMAZON)

The fourth in the Inside Out erotic romance series by New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones, this steamy novel resolves Chris and Sara’s relationship and leads into Mark’s story.

“Chris and I have faced our demons and bared our souls to one another in Paris. Now that we are back home in San Francisco, I want to believe that nothing can tear us apart. Not Ava’s accusations against me to the police, or Chris’s fear that he will destroy me as he feels he did Amber. And not Mark, who was once too intimately a part of our lives, and who I can see crumbling inside out. He believes he is invincible, just as I want to believe Chris and I are invincible. We have to be invincible. We need each other too much for any other ending.”

MY THOUGHTS

I suggest you read books in order, this review may contain spoilers if you have not read the other books.

Chris and Sara are back from Paris and are thrown into the middle of Ava’s murder investigation.  Ava has recanted her confession and is now pointing the finger at Sara.  Sara, so wrapped up in all the trouble going around, her, starts to hide her secrets from Chris.  The pair need to work their problems out and they do that in the bedroom, or wherever and whenever the mood seems right. There are still so many secrets we need to uncover, but things are coming to light.  Can they handle all the suffering together?

I am really enjoying the way Sara is standing up for herself.  I found her weak in the first installment, but the more she gives into Chris the stronger she becomes.  Her weakness comes from her fear and she is starting to face her fear.  I love the way the characters compliment each other.  There are still questions that I would like answered, but the books are coming.  I have read all books in order along with the journals.  I highly recommend they are read in order.  These books are not meant to be stand alones.  A great romantic suspense.

THE WRONG DRAWERS (IVY MORRIS MYSTERIES) by Misty Simon

Title: THE WRONG DRAWERS (IVY MORRIS MYSTERY)

Author: Misty Simon

Website: http://mistysimon.wordpress.com/

Publisher:The Wild Rose Press, Inc.

Published Date: July 15, 2014

ASIN: B00LUAM57A

Book one is POISON IVY, THE WRONG DRAWERS IS BOOK TWO

Genre: Cozy

Source: This book was received for the purpose of an honest review.

BOOK DESCRIPTION (FROM AMAZON)

Ivy Morris is back, and this time she’s determined to stay out of trouble. She’s comfortably ensconced in her costume shop, happy as a clam. Happy as a clam can be, anyway, when her father has moved in with her for an indefinite amount of time, putting her love life frustratingly on hold.

So when her best friend asks for help with an in-home demonstration party, Ivy jumps at the chance to get out of the house and away from Dad. She has no idea of the subject until she gets a look at the cookies. But that becomes the least of her troubles when she walks straight into another murder scene. One where she’s the prime suspect.

What else could go wrong? When you’re Ivy Morris, the only right answer is “everything.” With the help of hunky Ben Fallon, this girl will try to figure out why she’s being framed and what it has to do with her getting THE WRONG DRAWERS.

MY THOUGHTS

Ivy Morris, the owner of a costume/lingerie store was helping best friend Bella throw a adult “toy” party.  Bella’s old friend was back in town.  The old friend was not at all kind to Ivy and she flat out told her she was going to run her out of business if not the town.

When the friend shows up dead all heck breaks loose for Ivy and she is once again the suspect in a murder case.  On top of all that she still has not been intimate with the sexy boyfriend Ben and it has a lot to do with the fact her father just wont leave her house.  Can she and Ben find the killer or will the police arrest her?

This is book two in a series, I feel it can be read as a stand alone, but with all series books I recommend read them in order.  I found myself laughing out load in the book, and I have loved the characters since book one.  Ivy is always getting into trouble, but Bella and Ben are her biggest cheerleaders.  I hope to hear more from the author.  This is a great read and I would highly recommend.

BOOK DESCRIPTION (FROM AMAZON)

Carter Griffin, enforcing officer for the Seattle Wolf Pack, has a problem. He’s been offered the promotion of his dreams…if he can find a wife to prove he’s over his playboy ways. But Carter’s already walked the matrimonial road and bought the stinkin’ T-shirt. Besides, a werewolf only gets one fated mate. Been there, done that.

All werewolf dog trainer Faith Hamilton wants to do is earn enough green stuff to put her younger brother through college. Okay, okay, so she also totally wants Carter, her sexy next-door neighbor, to look at her as more than a friend. It’s too bad size 12 and plain isn’t his type. At all.

The two friends strike a deal to help one another out. They must face a variety of challenges from a psycho ex-girlfriend to a Yorkie with a shoe fetish…and that pesky problem of only having one-fated mate in a lifetime. Will a relationship ruin their friendship…or spark a love neither anticipated?

MY THOUGHTS

From the day the hot guy next door moved in Faith knew she was attracted to this man.  The two, both shifters, were great friends, but it pained Faith to see Carter with all these women who were nothing like her.  How could she compete with a Barbie doll when she was a short curvy girl.

Carter wanting to get a promotion needed to impress the big guys with a mate.  He told his boss that he was engaged.  Where would he find someone to help him get the job and fake an engagement.  He turned to Faith for help.  The two make an agreement, but Faith was hoping he would really love her as she has been in love with him their whole friendship.

I was really impressed with this book.  It has everything, Sex, Laughter, tears, friendship and shifters.  It was a story about love and commitment or a fear of commitment.  I loved the way the two characters interacted.  I also enjoyed Faith grow into a happy self satisfied woman.  We watched them become the best people they could be and that made them the perfect couple. This book is paranormal romance, but I would say even for a romance lover give this one try.   A great read!!

BOOK DESCRIPTION (FROM AMAZON)

An Inside Out Novella in Mark’s POV

While
Chris and Sara have traveled to Paris to avoid the chaos of press and
police after the tragic night we’d shared, I have stayed to face the
reality of what has happened. But there is no peace to be found in
facing the truth, and no truth to be found in the confessions that have
been made and retracted. I am a Master, all about control, and yet right
now, facing great tragedy, I feel as if I have none. With my club and
my relationships of the past in the spotlight, I find sanctuary in the
one place I’ve promised I will never be again, but cannot seem to
resist. Her arms.

***Mark and Crystal’s story begins in the novella Master Undone***

MY THOUGHTS

Mark is dealing with the death of his submissive and now the pain of possibly losing his mother to cancer.  He is losing his control and that is not a good thing for a Master such as Mark to lose.  Crystal is more like him than he would like and nothing about her screams submissive.  Why can’t he stop thinking of her?

I have started reading the series with book one IF I WERE YOU.  I am enjoying all of the books.  I am finding that we are getting the same level of writing as more books come out  The same style and anticipation is there.  The author is known for her cliffhangers, but the thrill of the end result is exciting.  The more I read the more I feel we as readers are the submissive to the Master that is Lisa Renee Jones.  I do highly recommend you read these books in order.  In my opinion they aren’t stand alone books.

BOOK DESCRIPTION (FROM AMAZON)

Ivy Morris may be an adult, but she still lives at home with her widowed father long after her sisters have all left — until she gets a letter with the words “your inheritance” offering her a home and a business of her own 3000 miles away.
When she arrives to assume her new life as homeowner and proprietress of a popular costume shop, she is bombarded by a slew of people looking for the perfect outfit for the upcoming Harvest Ball. Between overpowering biddies and stolen lingerie from the worst-kept-secret side of the business, things get even more complicated when a woman is murdered at the ball–a woman wearing the same costume as Ivy.
With the help of her new friends, including a cute guy trying to rev up his journalism career to private eye status with this mystery–and revving up her heart in the process–she must solve the murder before someone succeeds in the quest to poison Ivy.

MY THOUGHTS

Ivy who lived with her father in the pink nightmare room, still decorated that way since her mother passed away, wanted to leave the nest.  She felt stuck at home, until he day she got mail that would change her circumstances.

Ivy inherited a house and a costume/lingerie shop that far from her California home.  When she  arrived at the shop she was introduced to a group of people some nice some not so nice.  She needed a new look and stumbled upon a salon, where she met her new best friend Bella.  Bella took her new friend Ivy to a bar and that is where she met the handsome Ben.

All seemed to be going well with her new friend Bella and a possible new beau when she found her thought to be new friend dead.

I loved this book.  I was laughing during most of it.  I enjoyed the characters and I like how they seem like people you would want to be friends with.  She is a curvy girl with real thoughts and she just seems like a lot of fun.  Ben is a typical male, but sees the good in her and the fun side that would make them have a great relationship.  If you like o laugh and have a bit of mystery followed by a growing romance, here is the book for you.  I highly recommend you give this book a try!! I am glad I read it.  I was also pleased to find out through the author website that there is a book two coming soon.

PLAYING WITH DESTINY by Diane Escalera

Playing With DestinyTitle: PLAYING WITH DESTINY

Published Date: June 1, 2014

Genre: Romance

Latin Heat Trilogy

1. Still Hot For You

2. The Right Temptation

3. Playing With Destiny

BOOK DESCRIPTION (FROM AUTHOR FACEBOOK PAGE)

Fate brought them together. Will Destiny keep them apart?

Destiny Quinn lives for her job. She loves being an IT Recruiter, traveling nationwide. But all work and no play has left her feeling restless. It’s been a year since she’s gone out on a date — or slept with a man. Suddenly, Destiny can’t think about anything else. She’s not looking for a relationship, just a good time and a sexy diversion. One steamy night of mind-blowing pleasure, then maybe she can get back to business.

Christian LaCosta wants to prove to his family — and himself — that he is relationship material. Lately, it seems like everyone around him is in love. Maybe it’s time to give up the fast life and fast women, quit being the odd man out. Christian decides to take the plunge and join an online dating service. When he’s unwittingly hooked up with a luscious neighbor named Destiny, the coincidence is too much. Christian doesn’t believe in fate, but one look at Destiny, and he’s seeing a whole new future. Now he must convince this career-driven beauty that work isn’t everything. Take a chance on them, and she can have it all.

MY THOUGHTS

Destiny was tired of her toys and wanted to meet a real man.  Destiny decided to sign up for a singles get together.  If she didn’t meet a man there at least she would learn how to cook and the day wouldn’t be a total loss.  While getting ready to try her new recipe out, in walks the  tall, dark and handsome Christian.  He was perfect eye candy and Destiny could see herself getting back into the swing of things with this stud.

During the singles meet and greet the pair had a lot of fun and they didn’t want the fun to end.  Destiny was looking for a one night stand, but Christian wanted to settle down.  Will they come together for more than just a night?

I have read the entire trilogy written by the author and have enjoyed the books.  This book can be read as a stand alone, but I always recommend to read books in order when possible.  I enjoyed reading about the characters.  While this has steamy parts to the book, the story unfolds as a romance and we see a relationship blossom.  We meet the families and root for the pair to become a couple.  I feel this book is well worth reading.  A quick read with a story that feels complete.

As Good as Gold

Title: AS GOOD AS GOLD

Author: Heidi Wessman Kneale

Website: http://members.iinet.net.au/~damian/heidikneale/index.html

Publisher:  The Wild Rose Press, Inc; Faery Rose edition

Published Date: January 25, 2014

Genre: Fantasy

BOOK DESCRIPTION (FROM AMAZON)

January 25, 2014
Daywen Athalia wants love–true and lasting. Fearing a future of bitter loneliness, she seeks help from a gypsy woman. The price: a hundred pieces of gold. Daywen’s never had two shillings to rub together in her life. Where’s she going to find a hundred gold pieces?

Bel MacEuros made a career of theft from fey creatures. When the cursed gold he rightfully stole from a gnome is taken from him by Daywen, the consequences could bless or break his life.

It is not the gnome’s curse or a gypsy’s blessing but another magic, far deeper and more powerful, that will change their lives forever.

MY THOUGHTS
AS GOOD AS GOLD is a short story about finding love.  Daywen needed to find 100 pieces of gold for an old gypsy woman.  In return for the stolen gold Daywen would be given something to help her find her true love.
The book is short and can be read in one sitting.  I would have liked more out of the story and maybe I would have felt it was more complete.  While she found  love I did not feel it was a fairy tale true love and I was expecting more.  If you are looking for a short almost folk tale type of book than this may be a good book for you.

Edgar Grant has served as Lily’s guardian throughout several lifetimes, reaching her only through thoughts and dreams. Armed with the knowledge of Lily’s destiny and charged with protecting her, Edgar must help her stop history from repeating itself.

When Lily recalls Edgar’s refusal to believe her fears in the past, she must decide if she can trust him…and love him…in the present. And if she does, can she love a man who exists only in spirit form?

MY THOUGHTS

Lily is in a antique shop with her friend Jazz when she suddenly has a vision.  She did not realize Jazz had put a amethyst necklace on her neck.  She was suddenly face to face with the man in her dreams since she was a child.

Edgar the man in her dreams explained to Lily that putting the necklace caused a chain reaction that bought her face to face with her past life.

This is a short read, but a really good one.  I enjoyed hearing about the backstory of the characters. The story was very interesting and kept me reading until I was done.  I really feel if you like paranormal, fantasy this would be a great book to read. I highly recommend it.

BOOK DESCRIPTION (FROM AMAZON)

Can a murder investigation keep these opposites from attracting?Cara Rogers wants a fresh start after a slew of bad luck in Washington DC. Moving to Virginia
to help her aunt run La Maison de Chien, a doggie spa, is just the peace of mind she needs. No
stress. Just her aunt, the dogs, and wide-open country.

But when she finds Aunt Marian floating in the doggie swimming pool, the rest she so
desperately needs flies out the window. The only witness to the death is Rex, an apricot
maltipoo, and while he may not be able to talk, he’s communicating the only way he knows
how—one paw at a time. And Rex’s clues lead to murder.

Can Cara keep the doggie spa afloat, convince Middleburg homicide detective Cole Sampson
that Aunt Marian’s death was no accident, and keep Rex from the killer’s clutches before they all
end up as dead as dogs?
MY THOUGHTS
Cara Rogers arrived for her first day on the job at her Aunt Marion’s doggie day spa.  She was expecting introductions and training, never in her wildest dream would she think she would have walked in to se her Aunt murdered.
She was shocked by her Aunt’s death and even more surprised at her instant attraction to the hot police detective Cole.  He seems to notice her right away too.  The pair could not deny the instant attraction, but Cara may was also a possible suspect.
This was a really cute cozy mystery.  The details of the doggie day care made it easy to picture the rooms these pampered pets stay in.  I especially loved the recipes in the back of the book.  They are treats for dogs that are mentioned in the book.  The book kept me guessing the entire read.  I was happy with the way the book ended, but the author did leave room for a book or two more.  I do hope we hear more from these characters.
