The Highlander’s Woman

Reckless Rockwoods #3

A proud Highlander unwilling to surrender his heart a second time, and a half-Scottish heroine who, like most Rockwoods, is up to the challenge of making her man realize she’s The Highlander’s Woman.

Julian MacTavish’s honor made him guard a friend’s secret. But his lies to keep that vow make it difficult to prove his faithfulness as a husband. When a terrible inferno scars Patience’s body and mind, she becomes a recluse, widening the divide between them. But it’s her lack of trust, not her disfigurement, which sends Julian home alone to Scotland convinced he’s lost her forever.

Forgiveness in the face of death comes easily to Patience MacTavish, but the thought of being a burden to her husband does not. When a twist of fate takes Julian’s sight from him, Patience returns home hoping to make amends for not having faith in him. Pity is the last thing Julian wants from anyone, especially his wife, and it’s his turn to question her sincerity. Now, Patience must convince her husband that she’s come home for no other reason than love, even if it means arranging a highlander’s seduction.

#3 in the “The Reckless Rockwoods” series, but can be read as a stand alone. Fantastic, awesome, passionate and romantic! Fast paced. Well written, with challenging and charming characters. The setting, while not unique, is dramatic and effective. Filled with deceit, secrets, passion, tragedy, sacrifice, family, and true love through so many challenges, tragedy and selfless acts. The H/H are passionate, in love, but with so much tragedy, misunderstandings and interference, can they find their HEA.
One is disfigured due to fire, the other one blind due to a carriage accident.
A compelling, compassionate, powerfully written tale of love, sacrifice and realistic tragedies. There are so many twists and turns and facets to this story it is just plain awesome. You will be needing some tissues. “The Highlander’s Woman” is so much more than a romance, it’s about survival, the power of love, the passion for life and the power of family.
I believe this is the best yet of the “Reckless Rockwoods”. OMG! I read this in one setting. It is a definite page turner. Ms. Burns has written a tale that will transcend the ages. Fans of Scottish Romance, Historical Romance, passionate stories about family, survival, and love, will absolutely adore this tale.
This is definitely a must read! A keeper! And one I will be re-reading. I absolutely loved this story. Highly recommended!!
Thank you, Ms. Burns for writing such an awesome story! Well done! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for your fans next. Bring it on, Please.
