THE ORPHAN PEARL by Erin Satie is an interesting Victorian Historical Romance. #3 in “No Better Angels, but can be read as a stand alone. This was my first time reading Erin Satie, and I enjoyed this story. I hope to read the fourth and final installment in “No Better Angels”. I also, intend to go back in read the other two in this intriguing story.
This is Lady Lily Spark and John Tacitus Ware’s story.
Lily, presumed dead for years has returned to the land of the living with a dangerous secret, one that could get her killed.
John, is an ex-British Diplomat, and has been recruited to find out her secret, which could cause a matter of war and peace.
Lily is a skilled manipulator, has been hurt numerous times, by those who are supposed to love her, including her father. John a ruthless spy, who will do what he must to get what he wants, he is ambitious. But, what neither expected….matters of the heart and passionate kisses.
Fast paced, action packed tale with political intrigue, suspense, secrets, mystery passion and romance. A worthy story with well developed characters and an intriguing storyline. Fans of intrigue, Historical events, suspense, mystery and romance, I believe will enjoy “The Orphan Pearl”. An enjoyable and satisfying read!
