THE TRAITOR by Grace Burrowes is a thrilling Historical Romance. #2 in the “Captive Hearts” trilogy, but can be read as a stand alone. I would strongly suggest reading book 1 The Captive (Captive Hearts), to get the jest of things.

This is Sebastian St. Clair and Millicent Danforth’s story.

Sebastian, is a English Baron, in his own rights, but he is also half French, half English, and caught in France during the war, while visiting his French. He was enlisted by the French Army. With difficult choices, he tries to survive with many of those choices leaving him scarred and tortured himself. Considered a Traitor, by both sides, Sebastian is trying to make a life for himself and his devoted Aunt.

Millicent, has secrets of her own, but desperately yearns to help Sebastian with his tortured soul. He is constantly battling a war of his own and  With growing passion, danger lurks just around the corner in the name of his nemesis. Not only his Sebastian constantly challenged to duels, he is fighting his desire for Millicent, and finding his way after his difficult choices he made in France.

Fast paced, action packed. Filled with danger, suspense, emotional turmoil, romance, passion, the true meaning of friendship, healing, forgiveness and the power of love. You can’t go wrong this is amazing tale of sacrifice and love.

Well written with vivid descriptions of the countryside, the dangers, and the turmoil of the characters. Ms. Burrowes, has once again written a tale that will not only intrigue but spellbound the reader. Powerful, compelling and emotional! Ms. Burrowes, is a talented author, who knows how to write a story that holds readers in awe from beginning to end. I can’t wait to read the finale of this amazing trilogy of tortured souls, their redemption and the ladies who love them each for their redeeming uniqueness and sacrifices made. Well done!! A must read for anyone who enjoys an awesome read, historical romance, sacrifices, and tortured heroes and their saving grace, their heroine. Complex but very, very intriguing!
