When the love of her life leaves without a word, moving on is the last thing Dana Stevenson wants to do. Despite loving him, she believes she will never see him again and builds a life without him. While Nicholas is present in her dreams, she runs when reality brings him face to face.
Navy man, Nicholas Prescott, did what he thought was best to protect the woman he loved. Driven by a family secret, he walked away from Dana without any explanation. When she arrives in town for her best friend’s wedding, he sets a plan in action. With this one chance, will he be able to make things right, or is he just too late?
The story is about Nick and Dana, who were together for one glorious year in college until all of a sudden Nick leaves without a goodbye or explanation. Years later, they are reunited and the sparks fly again. Dana knows the damage Nick caused her last time and is wary about getting involved again. When Nick finally gives his reasons for walking away all those years ago, will she be able to forgive time and give him the second chance they both desperately want?
If you’re looking for a quick, simple read, then Second Nature by Krista Ames is the book for you. It’s an easy read with a cute story about second chances. For a novella, it has a pretty decent storyline. I can honestly say, I didn’t “fall in love” with any of the characters, and I think that was simply because the story was so short, it didn’t give me a chance to really get invested in the characters. With easy, dialogue and a short, sweet plot, it’s a great book to read if you’ve got an hour or two to simply read.
