After graduating from Fannie Farmer’s School of Cookery in 1910, Charlotte Gregory is ready to stir things up. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to travel, lecture, and give cooking demonstrations on the very latest kitchen revolution–the gas stove–and certainly doesn’t mind that the gas company has hired the handsome Lewis Mathis to perform at her lectures. Lewis encourages her work, especially her crusade to introduce fresh, appetizing, nutritious food to those convalescing in hospitals. But young hospital superintendent Dr. Joel Brooks is not convinced any changes should be made–especially by this outspoken young woman.

When Charlotte and Joel are coerced into planning a fund-raising gala for the hospital, will this combustible pair explode?

Fan favorite Lorna Seilstad is back with a breezy, lighthearted love triangle that will keep readers guessing. Attention to historic detail adorns the timeless story of a young woman looking for true love and making her way in a rapidly changing world.

WHEN LOVE STIRS by Lorna Seilstad is another interesting Christian Historical Romance from this author set in 1910 in St. Paul, Minnesota. #2 in “The Gregory Sisters”, but can be read as a stand alone. See, “When Love Calls”.

This is Charlotte Gregory’s story, the second Gregory sister. A light-hearted tale of a love triangle, looking for love(sounds like a song, doesn’t it?), in a rapidly changing world. Charlotte, who is out spoken, talented, and on a crusade to introduce nutritious foods into hospitals. She is torn between two very different men, Lewis Mathis, who encourages her pursuits and Dr. Joel Brooks, the hospital superintendent,  who isn’t convinced change is needed in hospitals.

While, light- hearted, “When Love Stirs” is also emotional, compelling and tackles issues of heath, nutrition during a time when little was known of the value of nutrition and healing. Which will Charlotte chose, Dr. Joel, who gets her blood to boiling or Lewis, who is lukewarm? Can oil and vinegar really mix? With lots of laughter, a bit of danger, and trust, you don’t want to miss “When Love Stirs”.

Ms. Seilstad stirs your senses, and your heart with her engaging characters, and her steadfast tales of faith, courage, healing, forgiveness and love. A must read! Received for an honest review from the publisher.
