In her sensational Breathless Trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks tested the boundaries of desire. In her new trilogy, there’s only one thing left to do: cross them. Now, the story continues as one woman, haunted by the shadows of the past, explores the possibilities of a new beginning in ways she never could have imagined…
Kylie sees the way Jensen looks at her. The dark promise in his eyes. That rough edge of dominance she knows he possesses. But dominance is the one thing that frightens her above all else. She and her brother barely survived a childhood steeped in violence and abuse. She could never give up total control and submit to a man. Especially a man like Jensen. Could she?
Jensen sees the shadows in Kylie’s eyes. Knows he has to tread very carefully or risk losing any chance he has with her. All he wants is the opportunity to show her that dominance doesn’t equal pain, bondage or discipline. That emotional surrender is the most powerful of all, and that to submit fully to him will fulfill the aching void in her heart in a way nothing else ever will.

Giving In is a sensual love story that will leave readers yearning for the next book in the Surrender Trilogy by Maya Banks. It captivates the audience from cover to cover. A don’t miss read!
Kylie Breckenridge is perfectly content with her life as the office manager for her brother’s company. After suffering years of abuse from her father, Kylie is simply happy to be in control of her own life and has no desire to ever give a man power over her again. But when Kylie’s brother dies in a tragic car accident, his business partner, Dash, must hire someone who can help keep the business profitable. As soon as Kylie lays eyes on her brother’s replacement, Jenson Tucker, Kylie knows she must take extra precautions to guard her heart and keep control of her life. Jenson radiates power, dominance and sexuality. But when Dash goes out of town for his honeymoon and leaves Jenson and Kylie alone to run the company, Kylie must interact with Jenson on a daily basis and she can’t deny the attraction she feels for him.
Jenson Tucker knows Kylie’s background, or enough of it to understand he must tred carefully if he has any hope of convincing her to give him a chance. Having a dark background himself, he knows that Kylie needs understanding, compassion, and most of all security. All things that Jenson is more than happy to provide her, if given the chance. Jenson knows that Kylie’s mind and talents are being wasted as an office manager, so in an effort to foster a relationship, Jenson offers her the opportunity to help create and give a presentation to a big potential client. He hopes this will be enough to show Kylie that he sees in her all the strength and knowledge she possesses and that he only wants her to surrender to him in the sweetest way possible, by trusting him to give her the security and love she has always deserved.
As Kylie and Jenson embark upon a new relationship, they must both learn how to overcome and let go of the demons that continue to haunt them. They must learn how to love and surrender to each other if they stand a chance at an all-consuming love that will ultimately heal them both and give them the life they have secretly always dreamed of but never thought was possible.
This is an absolutely amazing story by Maya Banks, one of the best books I have read in quite some time. I absolutely loved the aspect of Kylie and Jenson both having an abusive past that they must overcome. It was so real, so believable. The characters, the storyline, everything about this book will suck you in and hold you until the very last page. I found myself so desperately wanting everything to work out for Kylie and Jenson, wanting them to fight for each other, for the love they shared. Jenson is such a lust worthy character, the way he gives up his desire for physical dominance so that he can share his life with Kylie. His compassion and understanding for Kylie radiates throughout the entire book, even with the hard decisions at the end of the novel. While this is book 2 in the surrender trilogy, it an certainly be read as a stand-alone, but I strongly encourage you to read the first book in the series, Letting Go, simply because it is just as good as this one! I can’t wait to read the last book in the trilogy, Chessy and Tate’s story. Thank you Ms. Banks for another highly entertaining novel! Received for an honest review.
