It wasn’t Cassie Haddon’s fault that she had managed to reach the age of twenty-five without possessing any useful skills. Until the war, she had always had servants to wait on her. Since then, she and her widowed mother had moved from place to place, relying on family to care for them. Now she’s forced to find work to support them both. What isn’t in her plans is falling for Jacob West, a local restaurateur and grocer. She needs a job and he needs help. But what they both need is love.

With her signature sweet romance, Ann Shorey weaves a tale of two people from very different backgrounds finding common ground and the hopes of a bright future together.

LOVE’S SWEET BEGINNING by Ann Shorey is a wonderful inspirational Historical Romance 1868 Noble Springs, Missouri  #3 in the “Sisters at Hearts” but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would recommend reading the others in this series, because it is a great series. See, “Where Wildflowers Bloom” and “When the Heart Heals”. You will not regret your choices!

Cassie Haddon is twenty-five and has no useful skills, she has always had servants to cater to her needs until the War Between the States, well now she must find work to support herself and her mother.

Jacob West, was rejected in a previous book, and has his own secrets. He also is owner of West & Riley Grocery.

Filled with secrets, harsh realities, financial struggles, hope, faith, friendship, hardship and two people, one once – privileged and one hard working, from different backgrounds finding common ground for a budding romance. A sweet tale of romance and survival. Ms. Shorey weaves a story that is complex, compelling and filled with engaging and hopeful characters. Cassie’s mother was hard to like, but she was a different person before the war, as was so many of this period. War changes everyone in some way or another. She was a hard person to like. Can love and hope survive though trials and struggles?

Ms. Shorey writes with such heart, and soul, you can not help but love her stories. She is a wonderful storyteller and brings the past to life. Another must read by this author. And if you have not read the others in “Sisters at Heart” I would recommend you do, this is a great series! Received for an honest review from the publisher.
