Book Description (from amazon)
Idealistic good girl Madelyn Grayson believes in doing what’s right. Even as a high-powered executive in the mad world of advertising, she doesn’t cut corners, making her ad campaigns sizzle without having to burn anyone along the way.
Rival exec Zack Douglas never wastes an opportunity to land the next big deal—especially when it benefits him. A bad boy with a reputation to match, he has no qualms about doing whatever it takes to get ahead, no matter who gets in the way.
When a hot promotion pops up at their company, both Zack and Madelyn wind up on the short list for the position. But as the two square off, they discover that being heated rivals in the office makes for scorching bed play behind closed doors. Will Madelyn’s steamy, secret affair with Mr. Vice make her compromise her ideals—or worse, lose her heart?
A sizzling, sexy read by Tracy Anne Warren. Madelyn does not miss an opportunity to put the sexy, successful, Zack Douglas in his place. But all Zack wants to do is put her underneath him. When they strike a deal to fire up an out-of-office romance, it seems like the perfect way to scratch a sexual itch while not involving rumors, feelings, or emotions. But when Madelyn starts to develop strong feelings for Zack, things get a little complicated. Can Madelyn convince Zack that love doesn’t have to lead to heartbreak and despair, or is Zack’s past enough to keep them apart?
Overall, I found this book to be a fun, sexy read. In fact, I absolutely loved this book until the best friend/ex boyfriend, James, entered the picture. James and Madelyn’s past was so sweet and caring that I had a really hard time with the way that Madelyn treated him at the end of the book. I think I could have gotten over the jilting at the end of the novel if there had been any type of conversation between Madelyn and James that would have seemingly resolved their relationship in some way. I just really have a soft spot for guys like James and hate to see them be used and discarded. Having said that, I thought that the relationship that formed between Madelyn and Zack was delicious and hot. I also enjoyed that Zack’s past was nothing like Madelyn’s and the way they both had to struggle to accept that. I’m a big fan of the “bad boy turned successful” characterization. The banter and arguments between them over work related issues was humorous and entertaining. I also enjoyed how Zack’s character began to change and adapt throughout the book. I enjoyed reading this book and will look forward to reading other novels by Tracy Anne Warren.
