THE CAPTURE OF THE EARL OF GLENCRAE by Stephanie Laurens is an interesting historical romance set in 1829 London. Another Cynster story. This is book three in the “Cynster Sisters” trilogy, but can be read as a stand alone. See, “Viscount Breckenridge To The Rescue”,and “In Pursuit Of Eliza Cynster”. While, I enjoy this authors stories, this trilogy was a little slow to me. It took until the second chapter to get into the story. One kinda knew the beginning. But once started it continued on rather quickly, with a few twists. Angelica Cynster is the daughter of a Cynster. She is high-strung,beautiful,sassy and determined to find her hero. The Eight Earl of Glencrae, has to kidnap a Cynster in order to save his Highland clan and his castle from his not so nice mother. Which,he has already tried twice before, without sucess. This mother is holding a treasured artifact in order to bring her son to heel that is needed to save their estate. Angelica agrees to assist Glencrae in deceiving his mother. Glencrae is prepared to offer Angelica marriage to save his clan after ruining her of course. An interesting story that will have your heart pounding at times. “The Capture of the Earl of Glencrae” should be the capture of two hearts that will do what they must to save a family,Highland clan and castle.
